Got a flat and are stuck here tonight and tomorrow. What should we do?
Generally not picky. We like hiking!
Also any recommendations for places to buy a tire that are open Sunday? Looking like Tire Monkey is the only one open.

Would not recommend tire monkey. Have had nothing but bad experiences with them. Maybe they've changed since I went there last

Wait for Schwab’s on Monday….they may even help ya out on Sunday if u call and say ur an existing customer stranded. They will use it as marketing/commercial for the holidays so ya may even wanna ask for a new set of “4” 🤷♂️🙌all they can say is no . Good luck

I would but we’re moving to LA, and losing a whole day when we’re trying to get there on a deadline would be pretty rough.

Costco Tire Service Center is open Sunday 10-6 but you would need a membership to buy.

If not a member yet, go to the customer service desk and either become a member or purchase a Costco gift card in the amount to cover the tire service.
Fun fact: Non-members who are “gifted” Costco cash cards are allowed access to shop for items using said cash cards. No membership needed in that instance.

You can call your car insurance and check if you have roadside or trip interruption coverage :) also, I sent you a chat. I live in Roseburg and my boyfriend is a mechanic. He might actually be able to help if you want.

Chinese made Schwab labelled tires? Not my cup of tea.

If one is looking for a tire not to be put on by an SS tattoo, it’s a place to start

What does Costco have to do with SS tattoos? Schwab is closed Sunday, plus I don’t trust Chinese made tires when the rubber hits the road on my car. YMMV. 🤷♂️

Which Les Schwab tires are made in China?

Virtually all of their in-house branded tires.

So, from what I can see, there is the Mazama brand, which is owned by Schwab.
Tracing the brand I see they are made by Sumitomo which is a Japanese company and the tires are manufactured in a plant in Thailand that also produces the Falken Wildpeak.
Schwab’s other brand is Dean which they bought from Cooper. Those tires are built by Goodyear, which now owns Cooper, in the U.S.
I could be mistaken, please enlighten me as to which of their branded tire are made in China?

Ask Mr. Drew Schwab. He knows the exact amount of their catalog that is made up of Chinese product. (The vast majority)

Look at the DOT numbers. That will tell you where the tires are manufactured. It is not hard.

u/No-Extension-101 23d ago
Precisely. Most Schwab tires are not USA made.

Your statement was that the tires are made in China. That is simply not true. Their tires made by Goodyear/Cooper are made in the USA.
Goodyear is the only US tire manufacturer remaining.

Your source data?

The DOT numbers are molded into the sidewall of every tire sold in the U.S.
The U.S. department of transportation publishes a list of every tire plant in the world and the corresponding DOT code .
My best friend worked in management of Les Schwab for over 40 years.
I worked in the automotive repair business for over 30 years.
Trade magazines such as Tire Business provide a yearly issue that has tire manufacturers data as well as retailers data .

Your best friend will attest to the references I have posted in my previous posts in this thread, if they are honest and credible. Established fact that Schwab has used cheaper Chinese made tires for many, many years.
Buyers should always check DOT info for assurance and proof of manufacture.

Tire Pro, Big O Tire, Costco, Les Schwab... avoid the tire reuse areas such as tire monkey

I would steer away from there, they allow pedophiles to work there specifically the owner Tavis has no issue with it he has them work at his house very bad business

The bars in the Burg are plentiful on the weekends. Not as fun or open as long as they used to be ( For some unknown reason) but still got the fun, small town vibe.

Tire Monkey gave me a 20+ year old tire since I didn't know how to check and knew I'd be driving with 2 small children. Please don't go there. They are shady at best.

Gonna need a car to go hiking around here. There is a nice walking path through Stewart park if you want to walk through town. Les Schwab is the best place to get tires in town. They open on Monday.
