Android Bug [Android] [2023.26.0]

Post image

Whenever I go to the profile of either me or someone else and click on one of their comments I get this screen. This has been happening for a while.

PS: While I'm here I might as well ask if there is a way to sort my comments by most popular all time on mobile.

Android Bug [Android][2020.27.1] Posting images leads to this, which doesn't even show images that are actually recent. All of these are at least months old.

Android Bug [Android][2023.19.0] Since the update, hitting the "back" button takes me to the home scroll (a refreshed one at that), not back where I was. It's annoying.

I read r/bestofredditorupdates, which includes links to the original posts. If I click on those links and then hit the "back" button to get back to the update post where I just was, it takes me to a refreshed home scroll. As I said, it's annoying, as then I have to go search for the post to keep reading.

Same thing when I'm scrolling the home feed and see two separate posts I want to read. I open one, but when I go back to the home scroll, it refreshes rather than staying as it was, so I lose whatever post I also wanted to read unless I happened to remember the title and subreddit in order to search for it. Again, annoying.

Android feedback [android] [2023.21.0] The "Don't screenshot this" message is ridiculous.

Sometimes I want to screenshot a post because I'm trying to highlight a specific comment, or pa ssage. I don't need the notification to block me from using my "long screenshot" feature and then end up having to manually merge or send two screenshots.

And no. I won't be copying the URL to the comment just because Reddit wants tracking on everything.

Sidenote: The profanity checker is catching "pa ssage" for the word "a s s". Pretty embara ssing IMO.

Android Bug I can't save posts anymore? [Android] [2021.3.0]

So as of an hour ago all of the posts on my saved list disappeared. All I get is the "wow so empty" notification. Even when I added a new post to saved, it didn't save. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and they still aren't there. Does anyone know what happened?

Android feedback [Android][2021.10.0.314413] I feel like you people need to learn the phrase "if it aint broke dont fix it." The person symbol is fine what the hell is this "YOU" label, and "OP" blends in with user flairs. The microphone was completely fine.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or something similar and found a resolution? If I'm on a post and try scrolling up ot will refresh the post, unless scrolling up from the very bottom of the screen.

Android Bug [android][2024.05.0.1403584] Two taps required to view image/video interactions on a feed.

Quite annoying. The recent update made it so when I click on a video or image in my feed, it goes directly to the comments page. I then have to wait for the page to load before I must tap yet again on the image/video to access zoom or video controls. It used to directly give me that access from tapping on the item in the feed and scrolling up or down to see more of the videos in that same feed, now I have to go out of the selected image/video and do the double tap method to see the next video in the same feed. Slows things down a lot.

Android Bug [Android][2024.05.0] Default comment sort resets everytime I close the app

I deleted the app for a few months and downloaded it 2 days ago. So ever.since i have downloaded it recently, the default comment sort option (which is in settings) gets reset to "best" whenever I close the app and open it again. I have also tried uninstalling it and installing it several times now but that bug is still there.

Android feedback [android][2024.24.0] Since I'm forced to use the official reddit app now, here are a few criticisms of it

  1. Slow & clunky. I've accidentally backed out twice into the home screen a number of times, among other things. Baconreader was buttery smooth by comparison.

  2. No option (that I could discern) to not have videos play when viewing the comments. It also causes the comments to load slower. And when I try to tap the "pause" button to pause the video, it doesn't do that, and instead it puts the video in focus while removing the comments view, and when I hit "back" from there, it just takes me out of thread entirely. It is very frustrating.

  3. No option to set a specific subreddit as your landing page / home screen. The existing options are dumb, I don't personally want them.

  4. Cannot access my user profile or settings directly while browsing a subreddit, I have to back out into the landing page first or enter a thread.

  5. Have found an option to create "custom feeds" but cannot find them anywhere. Edit: I actually got this to work (it's at the bottom of the list of subreddits you follow), and added it to my device's home screen as its own app.

  6. Cannot quite tell the difference between the two Dark modes. Would be nice if there was a dark grey.

P.S. This isn't a comment on the functionality of the app itself, but I'll be honest & transparent, one of the reasons I always preferred to use an unofficial app is because I don't really respect reddit as a company. Its administrators have a long & well-documented history of abusing their power and displaying egregious ideological biases. I stay the hell away from the mainstream subs and only browse those for fandoms & specific communities.

Android feedback [Android] [2022.9.0] How can you fuck up the app even more?

First: fuck up crossposts, now you can't even open posts in the app, it opens the browser

Second: you force the shitty video player NOBODY wants, and rip off tiktok's formula because you have 0 creativity. Not going to take off

Third: add the godawful discover tab, which looks awful

Fourth: fuck up the search, which was already awful. Now it's small and you have to click every post, and the NEW and TOP OF THE MONTH button don't even fucking work. They do the same thing. How can you be this bad at your job?

Let me give you some ideas on how to ruin the app even more!

-Remove text posts! Nobody wants to read!

-Add a text to speech voice. I don't even want to read the titles of the video!

-Give more power to the 20 jannies who control the top 300 subreddits! People love them!
