Yep I was able to observe the same. I've written up a bug report to get this looked at

Another update of “bug fixes” without listing the actual bugs.
If you’re gonna force people to use your app, why make it actively worse?

Nice of you all to delete my comment and still not answer my question.
Where is the fix for the hide post option?

u/CorrectScale Reddit Admin Jul 27 '23
Please update to 2023.29 and the option to hide content should be visible again.

Thanks for fixing this, guys! Hoping for the option to auto hide posts I’ve scrolled past next.

My comment box still flys to the top of the screen and disappears. Why aren’t you guys fixing this!?

u/CorrectScale Reddit Admin Jul 27 '23
Hey! Really sorry that you're still experiencing this one.
It looks like we've tested this in several different environments and the team has still been unable to successfully reproduce this bug.
We aren't giving up on resolving the issue, but for now it's likely that this will be put into our backlog for a bit.
For now I'd suggest updating to the latest version of iOS to see if that fixes things.

Is there a way to stop getting notification from subs I don’t even follow?

Thank you! Idk how I missed that the dozens of times I’ve been looking under settings

Any way to make r/all the default feed on the Home Screen?

u/CorrectScale Reddit Admin Jul 27 '23
Not at the moment, but great idea!

u/repetitionofalie Aug 02 '23
Or maybe at the least making it an option to add to feeds. When you subscribe to a lot of subs it’s very annoying to get to and anytime you navigate away you have to scroll through everything again. Noticed there’s a beta feature to remove feeds—maybe could make it an option to add there?
I also really miss being able to sort home, especially by top/hour. Hugely meaningful for sports subs. I find myself using the old Reddit desktop site on mobile browser for anything news related. Clanky but at least it still works.

Font size of reddit is way too small.
At least give us an option to increase it..

iOS is crashing when trying to post on iOS 17 DB4. Cannot create posts at all anywhere. Freezes the app after a few seconds into the post screen.

u/00stoll Jul 29 '23
iOS 2023.29.0 - back button to go from a post back to the feed works intermittently, I have to force close and reopen Reddit to return to the feed.

Why is it that when I leave the app for two seconds my home feed automatically goes back to the top? What is the goddamned point?

Fix the lowered audio when listening to something and browsing reddit. Ridiculous how long this bug has persisted and of course there’s no damn alternative

Can’t post on Reddit mobile on the iPad. Anytime I try to make a post it freezes after a few seconds and I need to fully close out the app. C’mon.

I’m getting a lot of server errors when loading comments and notifications on iOS.
I’d also like to note that it looks like you can now long press on a post to bring up the share/context menu which is a nice change.
Makes me think that someone, somewhere, might be listening.
Edit: Looks like it’s also having a hard time upvoting and downvoting posts. Telling me it’s failed.
Edit2: Long press context menu only works on the home feed, not when you’re on a specific subreddit. Which just.. doesn’t make sense.. to me..

Reddit was down for a bit around that time. That may explain the weird errors.

u/CorrectScale Reddit Admin Jul 27 '23
Hey! As angry-dragon mentioned there was an outage that likely caused the errors during voting/trying to view comments. The outage is listed here for reference.
The long press to share looks to be available as an experiment right now, so it's possible it'll be available from the subreddit view at some point as well!

u/MyrrhSeiko Jul 27 '23
I hope so. The long press context menu would be a game changer. I hope they also add swipe actions. Thank you to you both.

Please fix the new bug of read posts not staying read/grayed out. Every time I close the app or refresh, it’s like every post is brand new/unseen. It makes the app completely unusable. I submitted a bug report.

Any plans to restore sort by new for the home feed? The app is painful to use without it.

I keep getting the app freeze when making a post! Tried a reinstall and still the same

u/golflimalama2 Jul 30 '23
So are videos meant to auto replay on iOS? Every other release the behaviour changes so curious if it’s a setting or something?
1
u/cyberentomology Jul 30 '23
This release absolutely loves to randomly crash while writing comments.
But at least it’s not constantly harassing me about turning on email notifications.

u/ShuckU Aug 01 '23
How do I add captions to image posts with multiple images? I see that other posts can still do it, but I haven't figured out how

u/TearsOfChildren Aug 02 '23 edited Aug 02 '23
Did they change the padding of comments recently on Android? All comments are so crammed together now, it wasn't like this a day or two ago.
Edit: I see now they moved the voting and other buttons above the comments on the username line. Why? It makes it way more hard to read with barely any padding between each comment.

Mine is back to the old format, I guess they were doing A/B testing and one of the recent updates switched it back for me. Try updating the app.

Just gotta wait it out, maybe try and find an older app version to downgrade to but I wouldn't recommend it in case it's malware.

Why did the font size shrink and why did the option to adjust the font disappear from settings? The app is basically unusable without changing the accessibility settings in iOS which causes a bunch of other unwanted issues.

iOS: Previous occasional bug is now permanent.
There were times with previous versions where the back arrow was disabled when viewing a post. Now the entire top bar (back arrow, search, sorting prefs and … menu) is non-functional when viewing posts. I have to use a right-swipe to get back to the posting list.
