Is the comment jump button fixed for anyone? It blocks comments so often lol

What types of issues are you experiencing? You can long press the comment jump button to move it, or you can disable it from appearing in settings.

It still appears over comments when turned off. It never goes away. When it’s “disabled” you’re unable to move it around.

Oh yes, this is slated to be fixed in an upcoming release. Not exactly sure of the ETA on that.

We got told that months ago and it's still a problem, why not just get rid of it entirely if it's such an issue?

u/Character_Economy928 May 31 '23
Lol about 60 days ago, I said I’m sure it will take a few weeks-months to fix this issue. I said it kinda jokingly thinking it shouldn’t be that hard, but god damn, it’s actually been that long

I just want it to go away when I actually turn it off. I never want to see it again

Bring back sorting on home screen. Can't do new or hot which is all I browse by on web. If you can't mirror the experience on mobile, people will just use web or alternative apps.

u/capskinfan May 31 '23
And now they're talking about charging a lot for API access, so alternative apps may dry up.

When I click any link that goes to a browser, I lose my place in the feed when I return to the app. The feed is scrolled all the way back to the top. I’ve reported this and have gotten no response.

When I click on anything that leaves the home feed, it resets at the top. Any post or going to my profile or notifications refreshes the home feed too.

I would like to be able to sort my home feed by new, rising, and hot again. I used to be able to do this but I can't find the option anymore. I would really rather see the posts that I want to see, and not just the posts someone else wants me to see (meaning new and rising vs only hot).

Scrolling between images has broken again and just takes me to the home page instead of the next image I’m on iOS 16.4.1 but I’m updating to 16.5 so hopefully that’ll change it edit: nvm it’s still broken >:(

I can no longer scroll using the empty space on both sides of a post on Home using an iPad in landscape mode. I can only scroll by touching the posts. I ran into this error a few months ago, but it was seemingly fixed. Well it’s back. What’s strange is that I can use the empty space to jump left or right and the scrolling using that empty space seems to work on subreddits. Please fix this.

Did this start with the most recent app update?

I’ve been reporting this since November of last year. Videos and screen shots. Several times. It’s also been reported in this forum multiple times.

I concur. This was reintroduced with the latest update. It seems this may only happen if you use Reddit in landscape mode bright now I just tried rotating to portrait and back and it seems to fix it.

u/Crenneth May 25 '23
It doesn’t work for me in portrait nor does it work if I flip between portrait and landscape.

My Reddit iPhone app freezes up every time I go to see the community rules and I have to close it out

There’s a glitch for me where when you press on the “see community info” Reddit will just freeze and I can’t see the rules. I don’t know if I’m the only one but I’ve noticed it

Can you update to version 2023.21.0 to see if this persists?
1
u/Useful-Store6791 iOS 14 Jun 02 '23
It still does it. However for some reason on this subreddit it doesn’t, but on all the other ones it does

Reddit owners removed the sorting options, and now are removing 3rd party apps too.
You literally trying to kill any and every option of fun that made Reddit a place to gather.
You disgust me, people in suits who only care about money.

Have you considered using a new codebase for the official app? right now is a perfect time to partner with some of the best developers of third-party apps, like Sync or Relay, and use their ideas in your development.
The official app is years behind some independently developed third-party clients, I think it is easier to make a new app "official" instead of trying to fix something so outdated

App is crashing multiple times a day now when I’ve never had that problem before
1
u/CorrectScale Reddit Admin Jun 01 '23
Are you taking any specific steps leading up to the app crash, or is this happening at random?
1
u/wowzeemissjane May 28 '23
Updated app 3 days ago.
Opens several different/random pages when I hit on a link.
Swipe to close image/video gets ‘stuck’ and image/video will not close or will move to next video rather than closing.
Picture thumbnails missing from main page for most subreddits.
Most annoying is the opening several random links when hitting on a link as I have to close each link to get back to the main page.

I try to upvote and it goes to the share page. Wtf

I hate the redesign to the front page. Can no longer tap on an image to simply go full screen on it, without first loading the post and all comments (which has become slower since the update) and then tapping the image again.

Scrolling is laggy and stutters.
I have a Pixel 4XL and it handles everything else just fine. This is barely usable.

Still not able to Mute communities. How about a fix for ios16.5? My phone is up to date. Reddit app is up to date. Deleted and reinstalled reddit app again today. So, what's up? Now I'm back to checking Show less of so & so.

Still no fix for the disappearing comment box. This is getting really annoying.
