So yes.. they did it. They just don't want the publicity of a trial.

Isn’t it a given that tech companies use their technology to spy on users? Every time I read “we value your privacy” I auto-translate to “we value taking away your privacy”.

I’m not trying to say it’s okay. I’m just saying no one should be surprised - which you obviously aren’t.

The difference is..

Gathering data, location, usage times, what apps, etc.

Vs

Recording your conversations.

An argument can be made for the former being used to better the product.

The latter is just invading privacy.

I remember when people would say “my phone is listening to me” and tech companies would scoff. Then on day I was driving down the road (a few years back and with android at the time) and glanced at my phone only to see that it was showing what song was playing. I was listening to the radio at the time.

Edit: I realize I didn’t address recording but, again, it’s the same as other tech companies including google.

Ironic how people don’t want the government to watch over them but they are fine with private corporations doing it

I'm sure Tim Apple will pay the fine with the loose change in his couch cushions. That'll show them!

Well bloody hell. Here I genuinely thought they were different. I stand angrily corrected.
