Question: When to cold crash a turbo yeast?
Bought myself some turboyeast for first hooch attempt, how can i judge when to cold crash if the whole fermentation process only lasts 48-72 hours? The yeast I chose can go up to 17% if left for long enough but i’m hoping to stop it somewhere between 10-14%.

You can't measure it unless you recorded the starting gravity or SG when you make the initial batch. Otherwise your just guessing

You get to 10% by starting out with just enough sugar to get to 10%. Then it wont matter how high the yeast CAN ferment. It cant ferment any stronger than there is sugar. (Are you sure you even have enough sugar in there to get to 17%?)
Cold crashing will only temporarily halt the fermentation, it will start right back up when the temperature rises. You can store your yeast in the freezer if you want to, it wont kill it.

Have you already started your brew?
If not, just go ahead and toss the turbo yeast in the trash and do bread yeast instead. Or order some wine yeast if you have the patience.
Turbo yeast sucks every single time lol

I’m legitimately happy for you, are you cold fermenting or something?
Turbo yeast easily throws a lot of fusels, contributing to harsh taste.

Your hopes require a hydrometer or other tool to measure when you are at 10-14%.
