Cillian Murphy will not be appearing in 28 Years Later.
Producer Andrew McDonald revealed in an interview that even though Cillian and the writers had wanted him to be involved in this movie, they were not able to work out how his character in 28 Days Later will be connected so he is involved for now as an executive producer only. He did confirm that they are already planning for his character to appear in the follow-up movies with the sequel 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple scheduled for next year.

I’m glad they didn’t force it just to force it. Makes me even more optimistic about it.

A stop-motion series about Sanrio's My Melody and Kuromi is in the works for Netflix to be released in July. The show is developed by stop-motion artist Tomoki Misato who is known in Japan for his stop-motion series Pui Pui Molcar (which I highly recommend watching if you're looking for a relaxing series as the show doesn't contain much dialogue and has guinea pigs).
While I'm not the biggest fan of My Melody and Kuromi, I am a sucker for Netflix's collection of cute Japanese stop-motion series so I will be looking forward to this show.

Watched Molcar while trip-sitting a group of rugby boys on LSD and it was a profound experience. The empathy those grown men held for those little guinea pigs/cars was truly beautiful to behold.

I love the Rillakuma stop motion series that came out on Netflix so I’m very excited for this!

I love stop motion animation, and I love Sanrio (and particularly My Melody) and July is my birthday month. So basically this is for me.

Hoda Kotb said goodbye to the TODAY show after 17 years, here is her letter to viewers. Craig Melvin will replace her as co-anchor on Monday, and the fourth hour will be called TODAY with Jenna & Friends, which Jenna Bush Hager (who launched her own publishing imprint this week) will host with rotating guests until a permanent replacement is named. Taraji P. Henson, Keke Palmer, Eva Longoria and Michelle Buteau will co-host next week, and Scarlett Johansson will co-host the entire second week.

I’ve watched this in the morning since I was in middle school, and…not going to divulge my age now LMAO but I’ll miss her. She was always such a bright way to start the day. Glad she can enjoy more time with her girls. Also, Scarlett Johansson co-hosting for a whole week is…interesting lol.

Why is she quitting? That website is full of ads 😭

u/shabuluba 6h ago
She turned 60 last year and decided it was the right time to move on, and she also wants to spend more time with her daughters.

A few days after The Sun reported Chappell Roan was in advanced talks to perform at the Brit Awards, they're now reporting Sabrina Carpenter is in advanced talks as well. Keep in mind, it is the Sun, so dont be surprised if this isn't true, but these two names make a lot of sense.
12
u/ss2811 5h ago
Sabrina does start her Europe tour in Ireland a few dates after the BRITs so it would add up!

u/ChasesICantSend Cause I'm too messy, and then I'm just even more messy 4h ago edited 3h ago
Yeah Sabrina logistically makes way too much sense to not have it happen.
Edit: You know, if Gracie got a late nomination for international artist, she would make some sense too. She performs in Belgium the previous night before heading to England on the 3rd. The logistics are a little more difficult but she's not like the others in that she's probably not doing a full dance routine unique to the show. She just needs sound check and her guitar

Ally Brooke (ex-Fifth Harmony) cancels shows in Brazil due to low tickets sales; 62 of 769 sold in São Paulo and 29 of 800 sold in Rio

She doesn’t even have a full body of work out or consistent music out to do this. And I like some of her songs and I’m rooting for her bc I know Covid slowed down her career. She had* a mini tour scheduled in 2020 w/small venues in the US and it looked super promising but was cancelled bc of covid.
And I believe shes independent so it’s like she has to start from ground 0 again so Brazil wasn’t a good idea.

Is she someone who has a massive Brazilian fanbase? Or do we think she should stick to US shows

u/guixxlopes 11h ago
so, i was her fan in the past, and in 2019 she came here in brazil for a free show, the entry was giving a sweater for charity. it was announced just 3 days before. i showed up ~1h in advance and couldn't get in because it got full (400 people), and there were at least more 400 outside. can't say it was massive, but at least she HAD brazilian people going for her
21
u/SwaggiiP 8h ago
Was also free
19
u/guixxlopes 8h ago edited 6h ago
but i don't think she'd get these people again nowadays even for free, that was 6 years ago. i mean, i would be counted out already 😭

u/stillhavehope99 11h ago
And another thing: fame is so cruel! Just ten years ago she was performing in arenas. Now she can't break 30 ticket sales for a show in Rio? 💔
We talk a lot about how awful being famous can be (rightly so), but I think there's also room for a discussion about how hard it might be when you USED to be famous ...And aren't really famous anymore, at least not to the same degree. There's gotta be a difficult adjustment period.
18
u/SamosaAndMimosa 7h ago
Alli was never actually famous though, she performed in arenas as a part of fifth harmony but most people still had no idea who she was
47
u/engsmml 9h ago
I feel for anyone who were in groups, like it must be so awful especially when there's a breakout star and the rest don't quite get there. That has to sting a bit.
19
u/stillhavehope99 9h ago
I think about that sometimes too! P!nk and Britney started out in groups. I wonder what it felt like to be their former bandmate and think "Why them and not me?".
5
u/SamosaAndMimosa 6h ago
What group did Britney start out in?
14
u/Champiness 6h ago
Innosense, who lost Britney before they recorded anything and didn't last much longer on the runway after that (but no one can ever take the end-credits music for the third Pokémon movie away from them).

u/iceunelle 6h ago edited 4h ago
Holy shit, my mind is blown that To Know the Unknown is sung by the girl group Britney was almost in.

u/SamosaAndMimosa 4h ago
My boyfriend had the same reaction except he was sarcastic 😭
2
u/iceunelle 4h ago
What can I say, I have a lot of nostalgia for the first few seasons of Pokemon.
1
u/SamosaAndMimosa 3h ago
My boyfriend does too he just found that fun fact to be super underwhelming 😭
7
u/SamosaAndMimosa 6h ago
“The band decided to misspell the name so they would not sound like “innocent little four-year-olds.” HUH??? 😭😭😭
That Pokémon movie fact is blowing my mind idk if i remember that song in particular but I bet my boyfriend does 💀 I can’t wait to harass him about this after he wakes up from his nap
4
u/yourfacesucksass haha hehe haha ho 6h ago
LMAO, but the way the ended up spelling it now just reminds me if Kelly Osbourne’s “in the sense that” from her clean your toilets moment.
5
u/Champiness 6h ago
It delights me to this day that there are only two degrees of separation between Britney Spears and the Pokémon designed to look like the alphabet
1
u/SamosaAndMimosa 6h ago
Wait I’m so stupid what is the connection between Brittney and unknown 😭
Apparently Britney had a song on the album for the first Pokemon movie I love that for her

Yeah, I feel bad, I've seen a few times people on popheads posting about someone's star fading and just dunking on them, and it's like, is that necessary? They're already down, and it doesn't make the situation better to laugh while they're down.

I would have gone to her concert if she toured my country :((
She always seemed so nice and has a lovely tone to her voice. I hope she doesn't take this too hard.

u/prettybunbun 11h ago
This is brutal but what did she expect? She hasn’t even put out a solo album. The few very small shows she’s done she just sings covers, any 5H fans would want it to be rebranded a 5H show or to have her own music.
47
u/guixxlopes 11h ago
poor marketing aside, when i saw she was selling some tickets for R$3K (~$500) i wasn't very surprised that this was the fate. okay, included a meet & greet + pizza night w her but come on. she doesn't have fans like that 😭
26
u/backupsaway euphoria mixed with existential vertigo 9h ago
$500 is a lot especially for an artist who hasn't released something new in awhile even with a meet-and-greet included. I think the Eras Tour tickets were cheaper than that.

Sadly this doesn't surprise me, I was a big fan of hers around 2020/2021 because she was putting out a bunch of bangers, but then she just kind of dropped off the map and it killed any momentum she had. She's talented and seems sweet but she just isn't the kind of artist that people are going to wait around for. Dinah fell into the same trap but at least she's releasing independently now.

u/undisclosedthroway One of Ten Dua Lipa stans 11h ago
she should have rebrand it as a 5H tribute show where she sings all the parts
33
u/stillhavehope99 11h ago
Perhaps, but it would probably require swallowing her pride in a big way. She probably doesn't want to be defined by Fifth Harmony forever, especially when Normani and Camila have both had successful solo careers.
Maybe she should go on reality shows or talk shows? That seems to be a reliable way back into the zeitgeist.
9
u/drawing5blanks 9h ago
I’m pretty sure she was on a reality show recently, with Tyler Posey as one of the other celebs
51
u/Bored-uy 11h ago
Oh, that's like, really fucking bad. My god, I feel so bad for her.
31
u/guixxlopes 11h ago
i also feel for her, but the marketing is to blame. many comments saying they would have gone to the show if they were aware of its existence... i also had no idea she was coming. was very surprised to find out the shows were announced in august

Timothée Chalamet will be hosting SNL on January 25th, with musical guest... Wait, that can't be right... Timothée Chalamet?
