While it is so good, I always progress it the slowest out of all the guild quest lines just so that I can spend time with the other Brotherhood members longer.

Oh you mean because you finish up the quest chain and are like “I got all my quest rewards so I don’t need to come back here anymore, bye! Live long and murder!”

Honestly I liked all the guild questlines in oblivion better except the fighters guild compared to skyrim because it felt like you earned your titles in the guilds and weren't just handed them.

Even the main line can't compete with The Dark Brotherhood quest line.

I love the main questline- or at least the characters involved since oblivion gates are kinda meh; but truthfully Oblivion has so many great quests in general. It genuinely makes me upset when Martin sacrifices himself at the end. I grew up playing this game and I always saw Martin as my greatest friend. (and Sean Bean is so awesome.) And Uriel Septim was always like a loveable grandpa- maybe a weird way to look at it. But when I was a kid I actually cried when Martin sacrificed himself! That's the main reason I don't like finishing the story :)

I love going straight for the arena, if you do they gray prince quest his easy fight will count for the murder needed to join the brotherhood

It’s the first thing i do in every playthrough pretty much. Was SO dissapointed in the Skyrim Version

Knights of the Nine for me. It feels like Ultima 4 if it had a villain.

And if you play a stealthy character the main questline can be a bit too tough sometimes

All the faction quest lines are S tier and much better than the main quest.

Purely because they don't involve closing oblivion gates lol

Well its like this for me. I wait til max level endgame to do the main quest. Because admittedly the Oblivion Gates have decent leveled loot

This is accurate

Oblivion and Skyrim DB quests remove quest essential NPC’s. To get the full experience you need to do them late game, but I get it. DB is typically one of my first ways to make money.

I'm doing my first main quest playthrough after 15 years and thousands of hours and I'm already tempted to jump the ship and do DB instead

Honestly it took me like 6 years to complete the oblivion main quest

There was just so much to do I kept getting side tracked

I hate the Dark Brotherhood. In both Oblivion and Skyrim.
