I hope not. Not for his benefit, but because prison violence does not stay in prison. It's a cycle of abuse that persists outside prison walls as well. It just festers and incubates inside the prison teaching people to be even worse. Also some innocent people do end up in prison and come out shittier people after the trauma.

That and sentencing people to be effectively raped and beaten is barbaric. I have never understood why people cheer for that.

Yeah I thought this shot was funny in like… middle school. Now I wouldn’t wish prison on anyone, it’s a fucked up system for all, not to mention harms minorities inequitably.

Especially the poor.

You “wouldn’t wish prison on anyone?” Not even violent criminals? What about Dominique Pelicot who drugged his wife unconscious and over the course of nine years invited over 50 men to his house to rape her while he got video of it? What about off-duty police officer Wayne Couzens who kidnapped Sarah Everard, raped her, strangled her, and burned her body? Don’t wish prison on them? What a silly statement.

They clearly meant it in the context of the American prison system mate.

“In the context of the American prison system,” they wouldn’t wish prison on anyone? There’s no context, not even the Siberian gulag variety, in which there aren’t some people who fully deserve prison. Mate.

I would wish prison on the man who sexually assaulted me and his own daughter when we were little more than toddlers.

I mean the dude has dementia. I wouldn’t trust his sorry ass is gonna get better no matter what.

So to solve the issue of prison beatings and rape, I’m game for him to rot in solitary.

Solitary is still considered torture by human rights groups. Humans are a social species, most who come out of prolonged isolation are damaged. Honestly all who oppose torture should be opposed to solitary confinement.

There are those people who believe certain reprehensible people should be tortured, are you one of them?

I think given his age at least one part of the violence would stay in prison.

I'm talking about the rest of society and the innocent people in prison. My dad was in prison for some shit he didn't do for 19 months awaiting a trial which lasted 30 minutes because the government had proof he couldn't have committed the crime. He came out traumatized and broken man... He wouldn't talk about his time in there and he lost everything.

I know other people who did deserve to go to prison, some for minor offenses, some for fucked up shit, and their stories of what goes on behind bars are not good stories.
