Which Roxon would be best for me? Recommendation Request

I know of the Roxon KS2E which seems to be an excellent value for $40 having D2, the Roxon Flex, and Roxon Flex Companion which has D2 as well. If I got the regular Flex I would have to pick up a D2 blade at some point.

I want a multitool that I can keep in my car for if I ever need to use as my car breaks down. I live in a highly rural, forested area of the US. The goal is for the tool to be able to either assist temporarily fixing the problem to finish getting home OR to be able to make it so I can survive on the side of the road until I can get help. I will have a emergency medical kit, spare tire, tire iron, a tarp, a blanket, and some fire starting rods potentially in the car for such a situation. The multitool might occasionally swap out with my current EDC (Victorinox Swiss Ranger). Realistically, I might need pliars in case I need to remove a battery post cable or a multitool that I can rig up to use a socket kit I can keep in my car. I think there is a way to rig up the KS2E to be able to use a socket using the included bit adapter, a socket adapter in that, and then the socket but don't know if that is strong enough for a terminal nut or not.

With that in mind, I also know that the Flex companion will be getting an optional set of smaller pliars that can be swapped in and should be more than enough for something that small. Both flex tools allow you to swap out tools which also means you can take them out to use multiple tools at once if truly necessary.

Are these three options good ones for this? Are there better? Should I avoid Roxon? I don't need perfect tools but rather good enough tools to handle helping me make it through a really cold winter night (northern US) in the worst case scenario which I suppose I could do with just any EDC knife and something to ignite some wood curls. I am a bit overwhelmed with options and figuring out what is worth paying extra for and what isn't. I will admit that I am getting a multitool for this purpose but also because I like collecting things like knives and find these interesting as well.

Prolly better off with a mobile mechanic toolbox and a couple pairs of pliers and screw drivers tbh

The idea is I am trying to choose items small enough that they are pocketable or carry-able without much effort. Hence, minimizing tools and supplies to be just the basics.

I guess I’m just confused you can easily keep more useful tools in the trunk why do they need to be pocketable?

I agree in principle with you. Unfortunately, most modern cars aren't really fixable by the road these days.

Roxon, Victorinox, Leatherman etc. all offer great products at various prices, but their abilities are pretty compromised when working on cars.

Knipex Cobra 150mm, paired with your choice of SAK, Roxon etc. and a 1/4 or 3/8 drive socket set should have you covered. Plus various cable ties.

My cars and motorbikes are all between 20-40yrs old, so i tend to carry loads of kit.

When I think of EDC, I'm thinking about what tools to carry on me, rather than walk across to my car to retrieve!

I'm more of an urban prepper in reality.

https://roxontool.com/collections/all-products/products/roxon-cm1349-spark is the Roxon you might want. Then add something like this small socket set with misc. drivers. That ones metric; depending on your car you might want mixed inch/metric. But also think beyond just tools.
