Help me pick a new multitool for my birthday Recommendation Request
I currently carry a Gerber dime. I rarely use my multitool but am glad I have it on my when I do. I'm not looking for a full size but would like something a tiny bit bigger than the dime and has a Philip's head screw driver. I'd like something with the following: Pocket clip Pliers Scissors Flat and Philip's screw drivers Serrated knife and/or saw I've been looking at the leatherman wingman, curl and knife less rebar, Gerber suspension nxt and ronox m2. Any input and recommendations is appreciated.

Only “problem” is this that NexTool flaghsip pro doesn’t have pocket clip but you can buy suspensio clip and problem solved :)

While I am not a big fan of the SOG Powerpint, this tool checks almost all of the boxes of what you want. It has a pocket clip, pliers, a serrated blade,A plain blade, A Phillips, A flat head granted it is a smaller one for like eye glasses, and while the Powerpint does have scissors they are very poorly done and the spring on them is super thin.. On the other side the cool thing with the pliers is that when closed they hold a standard bit and can be used as a driver!! Also if you get the Powerpint alternatively to opening the pliers up to access the lock to close any of the tools you can just open up another tool on the same side and it overpowers the lock so you can close them both…

The PowerPoint does have everything I'm looking for but wondering why it would be better than the suspension nxt. Both seem similar price and features.

The SOG PowerPint is just a lot smaller multitool compared to the Gerber NXT. I haven’t Used the Gerber NXT personally so I can’t speak for it..

Love the rebar but it doesn’t have scissors. I have zero complaints with it though

The dime is a great small tool. Seems like you’re looking for your next foray into something bigger and better. I would probably try the Gordon multitool that I’ve seen everywhere as it’s basically a leather man, clone at a super low price point. It allows you to try something in a larger form factor and see if you like it Before deciding if you want a smaller tool or sticking with something larger. If you stick with something larger I assume you might want to go with a higher end tool. Personally, I love the free series and Lm arc.

I honestly do like the dime. Just find myself needing a Philip's head screw driver and wish it was like 50% bigger. Haven't heard of the Gordon. I'll look into them.

Cheap, very good, and have just a few of the functions that you're looking for while being handier than your Dime:
Victorinox Classic
SwissCard
If you smoke/carry a lighter I'd suggest look at the LighterBro's however some people feel it makes the Bic lighter way more clunky and others feel it's a negligible burden
Milwaukee Fastback is a series, look at the one with a utility knife, spare blade storage, and a screwdriver. And the serrated utility blades are fantastic for it, especially if you learn to touch up a blade from only one side with very coarse 80-120grit sandpaper. Makes it micro serrated on top of the OEM pattern serrations, super useful for basic tasks imo. I sometimes carry a carpet hook blade as the spare, other times a new straight blade
Other than that it's mainly something from Roxon to tick all your boxes.
I will add that in my own journey, the phase I'm on is forego pliers unless it's own the largest EDC and I don't EDC those. Great in my vehicle, bag, a full on tool belt or occasionally I'll wear in a belt sheath.
I'd love a good tool built around forceps such as used for fishing, and I get a lot of use out of multi tool tweezers, but for my own needs I love carrying the smallest size Knipex. Hardened steel with some special design features so they have done tasks that I wouldn't expect from pliers twice their size. I've broken several pairs of multi tool pliers and loosened most of them, so I'm super impressed that my Knipex are built to a higher standard. Just my personal use, I like delicate gripping tools but it's either delicate tasks or something I need to ask more of the tool than most mt pliers are built for, ie twisting and yanking on it from every angle and axis.
Idk maybe something to think about. The Knipex was truly a game changer for me

While the swisscard and fastback don't have every I'm looking for they both look very interesting and might pick up later to have different options.
I have noticed some people post edc and they do the same by carrying a dedicated plier. If I was using them often, I'd agree that's a smart way to go.

I have daily carried a Leatherman Wave + for over 2 years now and absolutely love it. I recommend pairing it with a streamlight microstream and you'll be set for most situations. The surge is a much larger more robust model that would be a bit heavy imo to daily carry, but could be done. I think if you're outdoors a lot, the Free P4 is my second favorite option.

Pocket clip Pliers Scissors Flat and Philip's screw drivers
Serrated knifeand/or saw
Victorinox : Swiss Champ / Cybertool-L / Handyman, all of them are 91mm length. Then add pocketclip #1 or #2.

Don't mess around and go right for the best, Victorinox Spirit MX clip. The Sog PowerPint tools are very low quality, I bought one and I'm pretty disappointed with it. If you think 7.5 Oz is too heavy for the spirit MX clip then yeah you should listen to the comments and go with Roxon.

I just got a Roxon M2 (posted about it a couple days ago). Don't know that it would be the right one for you, it doesn't have a serrated knife / saw. There are two blades on it though - the big one is a pain to get out with the notch at the base but is a decent size

I have the companion, but it doesn't have pliers, but it's about the same size as the dime (mine replaced the dime as my daily carry)
