Building my own multitool for a project/gift Recommendation Request
Hello all!
My partner and I are both musicians who travel often, changing strings, maintaining our instruments. my partner carrys this little bag full of little tools and i wanted to replace that with a custom multitool.
My plan was to carve a wooden body which will include a cut for pulling out bridge pegs with fold out: - pliers (tightening nylon string knots around bridge)
- Scissors/snips (cutting nylon and sometimes wound strings, easily replaceable incase damaged)
- file (filing fretwires)
- female tool bit (interchangeablle tool bits, hex, star, flat etc)
- knife (We dont use them but its always handy)
I feel I can design and make the body fairly easy but i'm looking for reccomendations on where to buy parts (I'm located in Aus) so the ends attaching to the body are all the same. Then i'll build the body to accomodate.
I'll also be building a tuning peg winder and will need to make the body end match the rest of these.
This is also a project that i just have in mind. I've never done anything like this before so please excuse me if i have some of the terminology wrong or this type of thing doesnt exist.
Thanks!

Look at the Roxon Flex/companion, and also some custom MT makers who customise SAK.

Roxon may have all of those items covered, i havent looked too far into them yet. My dad suggested it to me long ago, and i swear by this advice also: you need a corkscrew. He saved a formal event by having one, and I have as well on his advice. Always have one in my bass case.
