Looking for obscure multi tools with premium blade steel Discussion

So I’ve got a Leatherman Arc, that’s my every day carry, I love it, but I wanna start collecting the odd but useful multitools from brands that aren’t so well known, and I know somebody is going to comment “why do you need more?” that’s not the point of the post. Specifically I want to find some sort of medium to full size multitool that has a really nice blade steel, not 420hc, or 14c28n, or 7Cr17MoV, something really nice, s30v, s35vn, I know Leatherman makes the Charge TTI, and the skeletool with S30v and 154CM respectively, but I’m looking for something not as common. Does anyone know of any multi tools that have a premium blade besides Leatherman?

The weirder or more unique the tool the better, they just fascinate me.

MKM and Fox Knives have sak clones in M390 and Magnacut.

The GOAT has an S35VN blade option. If you don’t need pliers, Fox has some multitools with an M390 blade, and MKM has some with Magnacut. The Skeletool CX uses 154CM like the RX and the standard Charge, so the only ones they have with PM steels are the Arc and Charge TTI. I’m not sure there’s much else out there in production other than the odd knife with a built in bottle opener or the like.

You could check out the Aftco tool, it’s pretty obscure. I can’t remember the name but there’s some similar to Swiss Army knives but with magnacut and m390

Roxon has a few options with D2 steel, like the KS2E and Flex Companion.

Also Roxon Flash has D2 steel and is not that expensive

There aren't many, if any, outside of the few you mentioned. I think Goat tools had an s35vn option for their modular tool? The spyderco Spydyrench had a decent steel as well but that might not meet your criteria. Off the top of my head I can't think of any other multi tool with "premium" blade steel. TONS of MTs out there with weird/interesting designs though.

I wish they brought spyderench back.

I'm going to have to dig mine back out and play with it now. Such a cool design!

14C28N is a significant step above the steels you listed it alongside I don't think any multitools come in it that I'm aware of.

There's really not much out there in the vein of what you are looking for.

Yeah it’s more like what he’s looking for than he realizes.

You can get M390 Leatherman replacement blades on AliExpress, can't tell you how legit they are but I'm sure everyone would love to hear your review

Rocktol, the one with the vg10 blade. Runs about $45-50 and I would consider vg10 about on par with s30v
