Anyone else digging the Gordon? Pretty amazing bang for your buck!

I wanted one for a while to replace an SOG I was never in love with but it was never in stock. Then I went down the rabbit hole and ended up with an ARC lol.

Yeah same.
If I’m gonna carry something I’d rather like to rely on it.
I carried a skeletool from the first year they came out till now and the only damage is cosmetic and a wavy knife edge from me filing out chips caused by misuse (prying chipping etc)

What is it made out of? 5CR?

I’ve looked and can’t find any source that state the steel. They just say stainless steel. So probably something like that. Even 7cr seems like it would be advertised so it has to be basically pot metal

Is it an exact copy of the Wave 1.0 with the Charge blade? Why not just get a used Wave for about the same price!? I've picked up many of my Waves for $50.

It's very very close. The only differences I see is the guthook on the serrated blade, the glass breaker, the detent on the bit adapter is not there like LM, and the mini bit adapter does NOT swap between LM and the Gordon.

I've bought 3 two of the pliers broke. I went into the store and asked for replacements, they said 90 days sorry. I emailed Customer Service with the tone of "I know this is a long shot given the 90 day warranty, but just want to see" and they sent me a $25 gift card. It appears they are having substantial problems with the pliers.

I heard somewhere from a guy who works at hf that there was a heat treat issue with the first batch. They pulled these from the shelves and fixed the qc and restocked new ones which shouldn’t have this issue

Probably right, my store only gets a few in at a time. When I've broken the pliers it was on really dumb stuff, I wasn't trying to cut bolts.

Yea a lot of people were having that exact same issue. Kind of lame that they don’t issue replacements since they know it’s a problem with that first batch

I bought one when the only way you could get one is online, I really like but has used it hardcore. Then I came across one in the store and bought a second one. I also have a clone of the LM Surge called the Multper from Amazon with a so called 9cr blade and really like that because of the full sized bit holder 1/4”.

I was until the pliers split after the warranty ran out all I was trying to do was bend a piece of 12 gauge tie wire. My wave never did that. Also use the gut hook to cut zip ties and the gut hook managed to bend. I really liked it though till the pliers broke.

Yes, i’ve been EDC’ing one for pushing a month now as my exclusive work/every day tool. It’s blown me away at how good it is.
I usually carry a Leatherman surge and have been using this on purpose more than I normally use my Leatherman for, and I’m still very impressed

They apparently have some issues with the pliers breaking unfortunately. Also the early talk of a lifetime warranty was a glitch in their system and it’s really 90 days.
