You’ve covered air and land, still missing sea.

Nextool Sailor: "Am I a joke to you?"

Op thinks it should be called the pilot.

Keychain is huge compared to plane lol

This is the sort of decision making I'm here for!

Ks2 too big and heavy as Keychain tool IMO. I carry a rambler and it is my limit.

Perhaps, but it's more easier to open all the tools than a victorinox, includes tweezers, and the scissors are OP

It's bothering me that the nextool plane version could still have openers and file.

Nice collection, I have my eyes on the flex

The flex is not perfect but honestly it's been gamechanging

I don't expect it to be perfect. But I go urban, I can have file, scissors and bit driver. I go hiking, I get the saw, knife, awl... As you say, it's gamechanging.

I wish victorinox did something similar, repace brass rods for torx pins and sell layers separately. But that is never happening.

I'm looking forward to some of the prototype pieces being demo'd here as well. And the ferro rod is a nice extra for hiking

u/hjras which ones the one for plane? Has it worked past TSA?

1

u/hjras Jul 05 '24

It's the nextool mini sailor lite, haven't tried it yet

I doubt it’ll get through TSA, they love to claim stuff.

All it takes is be unlucky with one TSA agent who is having a bad day and you’re out $20 bucks. Not worth the risk for me.

Yes! My bil accuses me of having a “collection” and I’m like - no just wanna have one handy.

İ think roxon flex is the best one if you take just one leg of the multitool, the others are unnecessarily imo

How much thicker is the Flex than the Wave?

2

u/hjras Jul 06 '24

With pocketclip as the maximum point of measurement, they are the same (23mm), without pocketclips (which I'm not sure how easy it is to unscrew for the flex) the wave+ has 19mm and flex is 21mm

Why do you need a multi tool on a plane?

4

u/hjras Jul 05 '24

I want to bring a multitool to wherever I'm flying to

1

u/Yess_Sir_ Jul 05 '24

I think to answer your question, why do you need a multi tool period?

3

u/poebro Jul 05 '24

have you been outside your house?

3

u/JackboyIV Jul 05 '24

I use mine inside my house a lot lol

2

u/Yess_Sir_ Jul 05 '24

Yea no that’s my point exactly 😂 you need a multi tool on a plane for the same reason you need a multi tool.

It’s not always necessary on the plane, but I’ve been on vacation in Mexico this past week, and despite spending majority of the time on the beach/pool, I’ve still wished I had a MT on me a few times. I have a travel sewing kit I keep in my luggage, with Fiskars folding scissors, so they came in handle a couple times.
