Evolution Revolution! State of the Collection

Well, I had to; it was one of "my grails", was at a good price, and not much work to be done (reposition springs; clean; hone knife; make needlenose pliers head). Came in today and 2 hours later, this is the result! Now the quest begins for getting a sheath, fisherman's and cable cutting heads (and might make a replaceable cutters, needlenose head just for laughs)!

Damn! I have all the heads except the needlenose one.

Wanna trade the cutters for the needlenose?

Is that where you take one off the mp600?

I wish the brand new modular multi tools (Roxon, GOAT, etc...) could also have interchangeable pliers too.

Looks like the pliers have a single pivot point unlike a leatherman with three. Does that make it a stronger tool in rotation?

My experience with Gerber's OTF design (MP 400/600) is that they have been as strong as Leatherman's but with an advantage; since the head does not pivot in the handles, it is easier with the Gerber to release a wire that might get stuck/pinched between cutters unlike my Leatherman's, which require for me to jam a key or screwdriver between pliers tips to free the wire. BTW, the MP650 Evolution is a fixed (but replaceable!)pliers head design so, same advantage as the OTF's.

Can this be done with MOST Gerber? I am interested in buying only if It has the option to change the pliers head

No, only this one. The closest would be the MP600, but requires you to buy the complete tools to swap heads, and only two then (needlenose and bluntnose).
