Make a slit at the top of a capri-sun since the paper straw is good for nothing except making your life miserable
2
u/wondering2019 Sep 07 '23
They come with paper straws and plastic pouches? This is like plastic cups and paper straws. wtaf is wrong with this nuts world. smh
2
u/websoket Sep 09 '23
I know it’s beside the point but the plastic cups are recycled / recyclable
1
u/wondering2019 Sep 10 '23
The vast majority of most plastic waste isn’t nearly as recyclable as people think. And paper straws blow. Sorry

The lock for the bathroom at my job broke and locked me in. I didn’t have my phone so I just dismantled the lock with my micra. Handed the pieces to the building super and told him the lock was broken.

u/Charming_Yellow Sep 07 '23
Did you do it mic drop style?
3
u/vhs1138 Sep 07 '23
No. The super we have a very nice guy who was unaware of the issue. He fixed it the next day.

My Signal was last used to cut away some creeping vines from the house.

u/apervvol Sep 10 '23
Why do you carry a Signal? I'm really contemplating buying one

I've been getting back in to camping/hiking/etc. And was looking for a new multi-tool. I've always had a variety of knives and hadn't carried around multi-tools much until recently (when us started getting back into outdoor activities).
I had picked up some Gerber Dimes and two of the three i got broke back to back (red and gray). I started looking at the various brand like Leatherman, Gerber, SOG, etc for something a bit larger and stronger.
The Signal immediately piqued my interest so I decided to pick it up. It hasn't let me down since I got it. And I've now also acquired a decent sized collection of Leatherman tools as well.
Overall I think a lot of people give the Signal more shit than it deserves. I think a lot of people criticize it under the assumption that it's supposed to be a core bushcraft or survival tool when it's not. Just like multi-tools in general aren't meant to replace tools boxes, power tools, etc.
I think it's an excellent tool to add to any pack for bushcraft, camping, hinking, backpacking, etc because it has plenty of utility and can fill the gaps if you're looking to save space or add versatility to what you're bringing with you.
So far I've used the knife, saw, can opener, bit driver, pliers all plenty.

I was big wall climbing this weekend. On the way down, the rope got stuck behind a flake roughly 300ft above the ground. Had to cut off 3m of the end to release it. Having a knife on me saved me having to buy a ride down on the helicopter...

I am surprised that 90 percent of you just use them for thread or food. No hate, I'm just surprised That 90 percent of the uses I see on here are that, but I use mine more for cutting a rubber gasket that's old off a sink I am fixing, or slicing open a water softner bag, or cutting out some roots that are difficult to pull, or widening out a bigger hole for a deadbolt in a door frame, or sharpening a new point on a toothpick. Granted I use it for packages and stuff too, but I use it for a lot of other things far more than that. And that's just the knife, I mostly use the pliers

Unfortunately signals knife is good for nothing in most cases. But I was using its saw yesterday to form nice grip surface on a plastic switch.

Coworker was looking for scissors, I normally double knife, but I forgot my Sissy, so I flipped open three Scallion. He quickly pointed out it wasn't scissors, as he cut the tag from his shoes.

I rarely use my multitool knife. I generally carry a standalone blade that's suited to the job. With that said the last things I can remember doing with my knife are trimming a piece of thread on my shirt, opening and breaking down a handful of boxes, and rough cutting a chunk of leather.

With the all the nasty shit my leatherman has touched, id never let mine touch food, lol. Last thing I used my knife/leatherman for was to scrape grease out of my automatic running boards for my truck so I could apply fresh lube
