Hi All - I’m working with Starsgem on a birthday gift (right hand ring finger stacking set) for myself this year and was really wanting something custom with a pear and have been loving all the wave ring styles! The first 2 photos were the inspiration and I requested some customization a matching band with small stones.

But I’m in a bit of a pickle with my CAD and would love some advice on how to communicate the changes I want to see specifically with the main pear or get a reality check. For context, this is the 2nd version of the CAD so this isn’t the first time I’ve requested these changes and not seeing exactly what I want so I’m feeling a little stuck.

I could be off and just imagining things but the overall structure of the ring doesn’t quite match the inspiration photo. The position of the stone looks fine (I like the 45 degree angle of it) but the band looks too symmetrical (more like an eye shape than a wave). I feel like the left side of the ring should be slightly higher than the right. I shared these inspiration photos to illustrate but something isn’t clicking either for me or them.

Am I just being unnecessarily nitpicky and the CAD matches the design I want?

Or are there adjustments I could suggest to get this closer to my vision?

Went to a local jeweler today and saw moissanite in person for the first time. I was surprised to see a 2 carat pear in gold setting cost $3k when I’ve seen similar styles online for $1-2k.

I understand quality, color, etc factors into it but looking for a ballpark to ensure I’m buying something fairly priced. Thanks!

Hi, my husband gifted me this customized 3ct marquise on 18k yellow gold as an anniversary gift. He knows I'm an avid fan of Spice Girls hence the VB inspired design. As years pass by, I feel like the ring is so vanilla and planning to have it revamped. Do you think that adding mini stones on the band would make it look overkilled? Or how about adding some stones around the part holding the stone (see 2nd photo) to make it look like a hidden halo? Any insights?

Iirc, the tattoos were mostly lines and dots; that’s all I can remember😬😅

Loving this elongated hexagon moissanite and need to decide on a setting. It is 5x10 or approximately 2.5cts in size. I am thinking bezel or half bezel setting. Any ideas? I plan to wear it on my pointer finger right hand. Thank you!

I’ve asked about 3 jewelers on Etsy for an estimate to make a custom cocktail ring. I want an 18x24mm pear shaped moissanite ring in sterling silver. It would be a simple solitaire ring. All 3 jewelers I’ve asked quote me around the same price ($1100). I trust one of them more since I bought a ring and a custom made pendant from them before. The other two I don’t know. The thing is I’ve never bought moissanite. I would be trusting the jeweler to source it, and being such a large size I’m even more skeptical to trust its authenticity and quality. What should I know before making a decision? Can I even trust a jeweler from Etsy to give me a good price and authentic high quality stone?

Could you share your Portuguese cut moissy pieces if you have them? My partner and I are thinking of going to diamondresu for a custom engagement ring.
