Because districts matter and there is no district setup that will get you exactly the same share of the vote. I stated my principles. There’s no single correct number of seats based on total vote share. It’s an inherently political and subjective decision where a district should extend.

Why?

and there is no district setup that will get you exactly the same share of the vote

I'm giving you the chance to play God and make any district set up you want in order to answer the hypothetical

There’s no single correct number of seats based on total vote share. It’s an inherently political and subjective decision where a district should extend.

So your alleged principles would, theoretically, be fine with a party that wins 90% of the vote only getting 1 out of 100 seats in an election?

Districts matter because they are an intrinsic part of American democracy. They mean a legislator is responsible to a specific group and mean you elect a person and not a party.

I already gave you my standards for districts. 90 out of 100 is almost certainly too much according to my stated principles, but I continue to say there’s no perfect number. Districts are an art not a science.

So where is the line?

Why?

I guess you missed the next lines, immediately after what you quoted? I suggest you read those.

So where is the line?

If you’re not going to read anything I write there’s really no point to me writing it. There is no perfect line.

They did not sufficiently justify the position

If you’re not going to read anything I write

I'm reading everything you write, but I can't control your getting upset when I point out that it makes no sense

Oh I’m sorry, your majesty. Did humble servant not meet your standards? It was a perfectly sufficient justification, especially for this level of conversation. I wouldn’t want to confuse you.

And what I say does make sense. You just don’t like the answers. It’s a problem children frequently have. Those are two separate issues. But I’m sure you’ll learn.

Nope, you sure didn't.

It was a perfectly sufficient justification

Sadly it wasn't, but you're free to make another attempt.

And what I say does make sense.

I'm sure you believe that.

I have made repeatedly clear you are entitled to your own beliefs and you now make it clear I am not entitled to mine unless I can meet some unstated standard that satisfies you.

That is very much not your choice and I reject your power outright. Also, I think I now better understand why you support unimpeded executive power. You aren’t concerned with preserving the liberty of others but with winning and taking care of your “team.” More than that, you seem dreadfully unfamiliar with any traditional political philosophy, particularly the American tradition.

Facts are not a matter of belief
