First Time Broccoli Grow Update

I think I’m 6 or 7 days into this grow and the broccoli Micro-greens are thriving. I use 1020 trays with hemp mats and nutrient enriched RO water. Lights are automated for 8-9 hours each day. Working to get automated irrigation (mister & drip “rain bird” brand)

Looking great! How long were they in germination? Did ya do a blackout day after germination?

I only soaked these in water for 30 mins then onto the tray w/ hemp Matt. Germination took about 2-3 days before I saw any real shoots

Haha I have seen “blackout” mentioned here before. I’m not aware of what that is.

After germination has completed most will move it to the "blackout" phase. It means that you flip the upper tray the other way around to create a dome. This will not give light to the sprouts, but will make them grow in height.

Blackout is something that is unnecessary, the micros grow fine without it. I never do it. But doing so will make the shoots a bit taller. Its personal preference I think. Commercial growers do it a lot. And these look great.
