Day 4-First Broccoli Run
Day 4 of first broccoli Microgreens grow.
Two 1020 bootstrap farmer trays. Hemp mat hydroponic approach
Trying to find right light height & temp
Looking to expand to two more shelves.

What growing medium are you using? It looks really super clean, almost like I can only see roots and no peat moss?

Hello, the grow medium I purchased with the 1020 trays from bootstrap farmer. They’re hemp mats. No problems so far but I’ve read hemp mats are a gamble due to unforeseen shipping conditions. Can be exposed to fungi/bacteria and as a result mold can grow.
But luckily none to be seen so far here!

Just took a pic actually! I’ll make a follow up post as well. Once these trays are done I’m looking to get an automated irrigation set up so I can just set it and forget.

Love it! So that's 9 days? Looks like yuo'll need a bout 4-5 more. How much light do they get daily? And water?

Looking back at time stamps this is the 8-9 day mark. These two trays have used a little more than .5 gallons of water.
The light set up for this grow is a 42” “master garden LED grow light”
I have a hunch it’s a little under powered. 42” LED Grow light
I’m looking at getting these as there is an upcoming sale but need to do more research if they would work for Microgreens/growing. Open to suggestions! BRAUN 10k Lumen shop light

Try the photone app to dial in the light height it will tell you at what position you are getting the right amount of light.
