The point about "discovery" is a good one (though that's not unique to cable, as broadcast had that too). I do especially miss, however, "Public Access." Most everything on there was garbage, but some local jurisdictions would have some remarkably good programming that you couldn't find anywhere else. I miss thise surprises.

Streaming tries to compensate for the "discovery" element with "recommendations," but it's a long way from the convenience and practicality of something like Spotify's "Discover Weekly."

All that being said, I really miss very little about cable. I find streaming to be superior in otherwise almost every way.
