A reported collision in the area of Adelaide Street and Hamilton Road shut down a large area while emergency crews investigated on Friday evening. https://london.ctvnews.ca/collision-and-large-power-outage-in-east-london-1.7159134

Someone snapped a hydro pole in half on Adelaide and Hamilton rd around 9pm. It was a really weird accident. Looked like the pole the snapped because the bottom of the pole didn’t have any damage. Our power was off until about 5am. I’m just a few houses down from the corner, on Hamilton rd.

Are you sure it's not cyclists and bike lanes?

It's actually the motorcycles fault

Very odd what happened last night I live at 700 King St. about nine or 10 o’clock. The power went out in my building extensively. Crazy never had that happen in a long time and when you live in an apartment building not much to do but go to bed and wait for it to come back on.

Why do you have a camera pointed at the neighbouring apartment building? (if this is just a cellphone video my apologies, but it seems awfully stable for that)

Sometimes when there is a trickle of power coming through but not enough to surge anything devices that use low voltages like LEDs and things will potentially flicker if plugged into the wall.

Power surge. This is common and is the reason why it's very important for electronic devices like computers to be plugged into a power bar that has a surge suppression device, because that power surge will kill your device otherwise.

Computers should be plugged into an UPS that is just enough for the pc to run for a bit and be shut down safely.

A quick google search would show you that there was an accident at King and Adelaide that took out a hydro pole.

You shouldn't post about things that can be googled. We need to keep this sub reddit interesting.
Say, would you like to hear about the guy who cut me off in traffic today?

Yeah and no one informed you what happened until I just commented, so. 5 minutes after the power went out I did a google search, as well as putting two and two together with all the sirens immediately following a blackout. Rub the last two brain cells you’ve got floating around up there and use some common sense.
Fwiw I knew what happened while the power was off, what took you so long?
