Just some survival advice: if caught by an enemy army, don't say "I'm trying to help x".

115

u/Dertidancing 17h ago

And don't say they paying you. That's the difference between 'pisoner of war' and 'executed mercenary'

46

u/kieranjordan21 17h ago

Don't think that really matters to Russia what you say, if they wanted to execute you they would

25

u/Dertidancing 16h ago

Absolutely, but admitting it makes it even easier. They don't even have to lie. I mean... your chances are close to zero, imagine... a 15% or something like that. Saying they are paying you, reduces it to... 1%? Not a good idea really

4

u/EintragenNamen 15h ago

Yea. He said all the right shit to get torchered or executed.

5

u/Tream9 15h ago

Russia executed more than 100 POW, point blank, shot in the head. They dont care. Its a terror state.

40

u/Uchiha_Gohan 17h ago

Seriously. WTF…

11

u/Stvorina 16h ago

I guess the guy was in some state of shock and petrified.

31

u/ruggerb0ut 16h ago edited 15h ago

It's very easy to type that on your phone from the comfort of your bed, not so easy standing in the freezing cold, covered in mud, piss and shit from being shelled senseless all day as some filthy uneducated grunt is beating that information out of you.

13

u/Bolib0mpa 15h ago

Don't come here with facts!!

18

u/ruggerb0ut 15h ago

Keyboard warriors are a brave bunch, until they have to tell their barber that they actually don't like their haircut or tell a waiter that they got their order wrong.

0

u/GucciStepSon 15h ago

This means very little but I respect your logical approach.

2

u/LocalSad6659 15h ago

They never claimed it was easy. Doing the right thing rarely is.

5

u/EintragenNamen 15h ago

Exactly. Bro said all the wrong things. No way that man studying anything lol

69

u/CosmoTheWusky 16h ago

I pray Oscar is still alive

47

u/CBTwitch 16h ago

I feel like they’re keeping him around just to fuck with him.

10

u/CosmoTheWusky 16h ago

Probably

6

u/27perc-cannibal 15h ago

he should be. The slap on the head was like from a father to his son.

-5

u/pigusKebabai 16h ago

Oscar should have stayed at home. Certified fuck around find out moment

11

u/Beneficial_Ad_1072 15h ago

But he didn’t, so hopefully he’s still alive.

8

u/Magnetic-Magma 15h ago

If everyone stayed home when things got tough, no one would stand up for what's right. Change needs courage, even at great risk.

76

u/Rexman65 17h ago

He looks terrified.

56

u/CBTwitch 16h ago

Wouldn’t you be?

28

u/LolindirLink 16h ago

"he looks terrified and i would be terrified too" does read a bit oddly though, like AI.

9

u/CBTwitch 16h ago

I’m sure there’s a more natural way of phrasing it, but point taken.

1

u/lirik89 16h ago

Please act more human.

8

u/duckonmuffin 16h ago

Yea. He is either going to Russia POW camp or is about to be killed.

2

u/EintragenNamen 15h ago

They're going to find out absolutely everything about him then kill him or they will keep him for a prisoner swap decades later.

4

u/brotherdaru 16h ago

I don’t think those are mutually exclusive

5

u/Tream9 15h ago

Its confirmed, that russia executed more than 100 POW so far. There are a lot of videos of it. So yeah, he is. One wrong word and he will get shot in the head without a warning.

Russia is a terror state of global scale.

70

u/Otto-Korrect 17h ago

And one time he says he is from China? And a student? He'd better get his story straight.

7

u/Sue_Spiria 15h ago

According to his LinkedIn profile he studied in Australia and went to China to teach for a couple of years.

9

u/Gryzun 15h ago

He said something about being in China. He didn't say that he was from there.

66

u/Dazzling-Grass-2595 17h ago

Looks kind of like Karl Pilkington from idiot abroad.

26

u/camelseeker 17h ago

Classic Karl. Bet ricky’s pissing himself

-1

u/Commercial-Ranger339 16h ago

Fucking Twats!!

29

u/xxjuice123 16h ago

“Why are you here” “I want to help x” yeah done for bro. That’s literally the ONE thing you do NOT say when being interrogated.

7

u/Commercial-Ranger339 16h ago

Ugh what should he say?

9

u/Shot_Supermarket_861 15h ago

One trick is to tell ’em stories that don’t go anywhere, like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on ’em. “Give me five bees for a quarter,” you’d say. Now, where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn’t have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones..

13

u/CastawayWasOk 16h ago

I’m here on vacation, and one thing lead to another, and time makes fools of us all.

9

u/Commercial-Ranger339 15h ago

Saying your vacationing on the frontlines of a warzone is a sure way for the enemy to think your bullshitting them

39

u/molokkofreak 18h ago

«teacher being caught” lol

16

u/Crispy1961 16h ago edited 15h ago

I hate these kind of headlines. No, Oscar Jenkins is not a teacher, he is a soldier. He said so himself. He is a teacher in Australia, a son while visiting his parents, a husband at home with his wife and a father when he kiss his kids goodnight, but while he is fighting in the war, he is a soldier.

22

u/jerryonthecurb 17h ago

"And by teacher, I mean I'm here to teach Russia a lesson."

-3

u/HolyBidetServitor 18h ago

Could be a good bait&switch for r/notadragqueen

8

u/_Good_cat_ 15h ago

Lots of ru bootlickers in here

44

u/DylboyPlopper 18h ago

Rough 32

28

u/Professional-Neat639 17h ago

Doesn’t look a day over 52

9

u/ruggerb0ut 16h ago

Dodging bombs in a warzone has a funny way of fucking with you, yes.

23

u/Candiesfallfromsky 17h ago

That’s interesting. Who is he actually tho? I doubt he’s a teacher/soldier lol

4

u/Purple_Lubanja 16h ago

may be a teaCIAher

5

u/snoring_Weasel 15h ago

Buddy I dont mean to be harsh but this guy doesnt work anywhere near intelligence.

26

u/XeroEffekt 16h ago

He is a man of virtue who put himself out there for what is right and knew what he was risking. I realize that is not as cool as being a sarcastic iPhone warrior, but we all are what we are.

14

u/Fe_tan 16h ago

One man speaking sense. These people are probably the type who would likely flee if it was their country being invaded and they were being drafted. You can judge their attitude via their comments..

10

u/Floris187 17h ago

Interesting? Wtf

7

u/VagrantSalesman89 17h ago

Reminds me of that one scene in recent movie 'Civil War'...terrifying indeed.

11

u/Infarad 16h ago

The amount of trashy comments in here from people who think they are funny is disgusting. A lot of you genuinely suck at being decent human beings.

To the gallows with him.

2

u/Relative-Spinach6881 16h ago

Yeah it's a bot account. Karma farming. Been reporting them whenever I see em.

2

u/ThanksALotBud 15h ago

I gave up. It feels like reposting them is a waste of time. Reddit doesn't give a damn.

23

u/MustardDinosaur 18h ago

Let’s also think , what’s this dude doing in a worldwide known war zone? teacher or fighter ? or just bad life choices :/

3

u/TrickRoomTech 16h ago

Dude saw a war happening in a far away land and his first thought was "sign me up"

I'm evil, why would I do what's right. Not everyone is a white knight.

Probably just put in prison, well, I hope.

1

u/idiveindumpsters 15h ago

1

Why are they recording him? Curious

3

u/ToastyBob27 15h ago

Small amount of propaganda is gained when capturing a foreign soldier.

1

u/Anxious_Age_4689 15h ago

Usa supports war between Europe and Russia and just keep watching he is fall down to congrats the winner

And soon china and Taiwan

1

u/thattogoguy 15h ago

Having been through SERE, I can only shake my head and facepalm.

That said, there's no way this guy could have known what not to do...

1

u/EintragenNamen 15h ago

Bro said all the wrong things.

1

u/Drmlk465 16h ago

Was teaching so bad you decided to go to fight in the trenches?

2

u/Noreasonwhynot2000 15h ago

Nooo. It was the classroom that prepared him for the frontline.

2

u/idiveindumpsters 15h ago

Pays better

-3

u/ConsciousOne693 17h ago

English teacher on a the Frontlines?? 🤣💩🤡

9

u/very_dumb_money 17h ago

Based on the English skills of the soldiers this may have been needed /s

3

u/LumpyAbbreviations24 16h ago

Are soldiers uneducated?

2

u/Dravidianoid 16h ago

Grammatically correct war

0

u/PhoqueMcGiggles 16h ago

This is why you don't get involved in volunteer violence in foreign countries. Dude got caught and forgot why he was their to "help"

1

u/Significant-Grass897 15h ago

Dude looks innocent asf lmao poor guy

-8

u/Sarkastik-Bandit 17h ago

Dude thought he could play war..

-9

u/JeerzQD 17h ago

Got what he was asking for. Going to another country and fighting their war is lunacy to me. Got brainwashed my western media.

-25

u/Smooth-Support-2727 17h ago

He is lying. Most probably he is a military technical assistant sent by NATO.

Anyway, both belligerents have and use mercenaries

16

u/BigFudgeMMA 17h ago

Fuck off Boris.

7

u/HandsomHans 17h ago

NATO sends english teachers from Australia, even though they aren't even a NATO member? Pro ru get more unhinged every day. And that's a piss poor way to justify NK troops helping with the invasion btw.

0

u/TheMoverOfPlanets 16h ago

Probably not even Australian

What are you even doing there when that war doesn't concern you? Play stupid games.

1

u/Beneficial_Ad_1072 15h ago

You’d have to be stupid to not understand.

-17

u/nikolapc 17h ago

Well I would have the same reaction. Why the fuck are you in this conflict, durak? Go fight in the EMU wars.

Also seems to be a relation of world famous Karl Pilkington. Head like a fucking orange.

0

u/HighwayUnlikely1754 17h ago

emu wars are over the government surrendered, noone wanna restart that and maybe loose sydney to them

0

u/DewartDark 16h ago

I can't believe he didn't think of just doing the Ray Gun kangaroo!!! Quickest way to ID for an aussie surely.

-5

u/Chi_square_8601 16h ago

Classic example of " Fuck around and find out."

4

u/ToastyBob27 15h ago

That right keyboard warrior your nice and safe at home while other men are fighting in the trenches.

-1

u/Alternative_Ad_3300 15h ago

His face... The bones... Tells you everything you need to know

-35

u/Fickle_Map6827 18h ago

Hmm that looks like a world wide jihad but eh they're not Muslims so they're not terrorists , just people defending their ideologies

5

u/redcherrieshouldhang 17h ago

You framing this as an ideology war tells us all we need to know Ivan

-4

u/Fickle_Map6827 16h ago

I'm not framing anyone, actually i'm giving a logical explanation of what he's doing or else he's just a dumb person or suicidal to go for a war that has no connections to him and getting killed or taken as a prisoner.

11

u/aga-ti-vka 18h ago

What ideology? No orcs should invade neighbours.. ideology?

-12

u/xxXFreshXxx 16h ago

Bro I'm 32 and I don't look SOOOO OLD. I still have my hair, I exercise and I have no vices.I wonder why even people much younger than me look older, while I look 5 years younger.

14

u/FigOk7538 16h ago

Maybe if you were fighting on the front line you wouldn't look so fresh.

-2

u/xxXFreshXxx 16h ago

Good point

-3

u/MustardDinosaur 16h ago

Dude, genes, count your blessings

-5

u/FlyingAshley 16h ago

I mean, Oscar is kinda acting weird, I guess it's because of accent and the language barrier but he was still saying dumb words like an AI. I mean, I would be confused as well

1

u/the_scarlett_ning 15h ago

What if Oscar was actually a robot sent from the future? Just not as impressive as that other one.

-7

u/ZeroDudeMan 16h ago

32 years old, but looks 50 years old.

-8

u/yeezee93 17h ago

Dude doesn't look like he's got the whole 6 pack if you know what I mean.
