“Private” gender reveal party as opposed to what?

As opposed to burning down a forest.

I’ll never forget my boss to telling me one of his relatives and their husband were one of the couples that had a baby gender that lit fire to a forest…

I’m assuming just a few close family members. Idk 🤷‍♀️ I hate gender reveal parties for no real good reason lol.

There are good reasons to hate them too haha

Yeah but I’ve never actually been to one, and my children are grown lol. People didn’t do nonsense like that when I had babies lol. We did other nonsense 😂

Why not have a gender reveal party now for your 32 year old child? It'd be just as dumb as the ones for unborn kids

It's just as dumb to do a gender reveal for a child you don't know the gender of as it would for a 32 year old? Reddit moment.

Because gender reveals are dumb

Why do you think they’re dumb? Genuine question. The only ones I think are dumb are the ones that are harmful to the environment or downright dangerous. Popping a couple confetti poppers with family in your own backyard seems fine and normal. You gotta tell people the baby’s gender one way or another, why not have a little fun with it?

This is what I meant in my comment lol. I think so too, but yet what IS the harm of having a little gathering about it? I guess it’s the disasters that have happened that make me feel that way.

That’s kind of a hilarious prank on the kiddo, AND the guests lmao

As a trans man, I find gender reveal parties to be especially stupid.

You're not actually revealing the gender... You're revealing what kind of genitalia the baby has.

Congrats! It has a penis! / vagina!

I know, trans people are "rare", but your identity is located in your brain. There's where your personality is. Not in your genitals.*

I'm very glad this silly tradition isn't as big here in my country. It's getting more popular though. I hope I'm never invited. I wouldn't be able to STFU.

*Exceptions do apply. Some people are literal dicks/pussies.

I think they probably mean like a small intimate party? With like siblings and parents and maybe a few friends. Some people be out here having wedding sized showers for their gender reveal.

A Netflix special.

Probably means that there were only close family and friends present and she didn't announce it on social media.

Yet they filmed it and put it online

Calm down, Sephiroth

No social media except Reddit, Facebook, and Instagram. Public gender reveals are on tik tok.

u/Rocky970 1d ago

Private v public, duh /s Honestly thought that’s weird she mentioned “private” like it’s not like I wanted to attend your reveal anyway lmao

u/HammeredPaint 1d ago

Either way I highly doubt she raked up all of those little pieces of paper

Something grand and online

1

u/LemmingOnTheRunITG 1d ago

Maybe she didn’t post about it on social media I’m guessing

1

u/frankylovee 1d ago

Maybe it just means she didn’t post it online

1

u/Alybank 1d ago

Probably only close family friends and no social media posts.

Calm down, reddit.
