Knowing so many think like you just confirms to me we won't survive as a species.
Insects are literally what keeps nature as we know it going. Already 75% of a reduction and record numbers plummeting up to a 1000x accelerated rate, we should all be very worried as the noose pulls on our neck, yet ignorance is bliss and naivety is arrogance's best companion.
First eco systems will be affected, larger animals will have no food source, plants will have trouble pollinating and a drastically increasing reduction of biodiversity inevitably will lead to a barren planet unsuitable to sustain us as a species.
This is literally cheering on your own mass extinction level stupidity bc they mildly inconvenienced you. I wish I was you as ignorance really is bliss.

Ffs of course I know about all the balance required for ecosystem and how messing with it can cause the Doppler effect of consequences. Etc etc etc. And we already have seen how scary it is on a much lesser scale. I don’t think anyone would actually think it any other way, it’s 101 thing
My problem with a picture was that it’s not about insects in general. It shows a room. Closed space. Place inside the house. They could’ve put any other place which would have much more sense but they chose this
I live in a quite humid climate area. The levels of “defense” we have to put on around the house (any indoor space actually) crazy sometimes. People joke that going through the winter(where −28 °C /−18.4 °F is is really not such a rare thing) is nothing compared to insect season. So this is where my mind immediately went when I saw this picture. Insects in general = not a problem. Insects indoor = problem. Girl having less insects flying around the lamp in the room = good (and not for the reason of all insects to extinct)
So again, I’m sorry I wasn’t more clear, really could’ve been more specific about having it as a local specific problem. In my defense tho I don’t think there would be anyone wishing for all the insects to extinct, what the hell
