Anyone hear coyote pack in north everett last night?
Happened around 10pm last night (12/30) near Colby and 23rd. Was sound asleep when all kinds of yips and yaps started up, didnt last very long.
My only problem was I had taken a nighttime focused edible so I was very incoherent when the sound happened. I saw no evidence this morning.
I mostly just want to make sure i heard what i thought and wasnt having weird edible induced dreams 😁

Didn’t hear them but I’ve seen a few healthy well fed coyotes running through N Everett recently.

Same here, i leave for work around 4am and see them occasionally.
Was just strange cause this sounded like 3 or 4 of them. Again, though, edibles hehe

Coyotes aren't new in urban and suburban environments. Many species have adapted to more urban living and serve a strong purpose. I'm especially fond of the Bird of Prey that ate a flock of local pigeons over the last month. ;)
Some good research and info about urban coyotes: https://urbancoyoteresearch.com/

I lived on capitol hill for years, used to see the falcons snipe pigeons midflight often. Very impressive to see.

I’m around Mukilteo Blvd and Dogwood. There’s a greenbelt close behind my house, and we heard a wild amount of coyote sounds last night. Like they may have got a neighborhood dog or something. Hard to imagine it was the same event you heard given the distance, but also weird if it was multiple incidences the same night.

i heard those same coyotes on the 30th and had the exact same thought about the dog! or at least, i’m thinking they were the same greenbelt coyotes but it will be even weirder if it was a third event.

There's a good size group that lives in the brush around BNSF, I see them quite a bit around 6am on E Grand/23rd

Yep, at least 1-2 prowling through my yard at night in riverside. Drives my dogs crazy, and I'd rather my shepherd not get into it with them. If people are going to keep feeding them and giving them mange medicine, it's not going to improve. Animal control won't do anything. So if they go missing in the coming months, don't be surprised.

Nope, why should they? Humans encroached on them, not the other way around. Just wild animals doing wild animal things.

I don't fault the coyotes for being in an area that humans developed on. I do fault the dumbasses leaving food out for them - just check other threads about this same topic in this sub. Not even getting into how many rats they're also feeding, it's folks who mean well but are incredibly misguided on how to handle it.
In a perfect world, we would have animal control that is funded, and they could trap and relocate them.

I am always in awe of idiots that put dog food, cat food. Heck one neighbor in another cul-de-sac was tossing out all past pull date crackers and other crap. Then said oh the coyotes are out, I said well yeah, your feeding them, they might eat some of the garbage you throw out bit moreover it's drawing their prey, making it easier picking. Lady turned and yelled to her husband hear that Larry, we gotta stop. Plus that human crap isn't good for those animals. Don't feed bread to birds.

I've lived in North Everett for 10 years and I've seen them roaming the neighborhood, and in my yard, several times (I've only ever seen one at a time) and I've heard them yipping from the marsh between Marine View Drive and Alverson Boulevard.

Got a few coyotes that live near me around 41st and Rucker.
Seen them trot up my street in the early mornings. Every once in a while I hear them… catch something, I think.
It’s not the only reason, but it’s a good reason I keep my cats inside.
