From Ohio State fan Football
I just wanted to apologize for some of the OSU fans commenting/bragging during and since the game. You guys had a great season and are a great addition to the Big Ten. I am sure we will have a lot of big games in the future. You will win your fair share of those.

One of the osu fans behind us was harassing and taunting teenagers the entire first half. He was removed from the game. I’ve never seen such a thing. It was crazy. He was at least 40 years old.

I have seen duck fans do similar things. That does not define our fan bases.Also smack talk on Reddit is simply that. We are the guy in the stands wearing a red O, yellow O, red A, purple W, or blue M and we do not affect what happens on the field.
We spend money on tickets and merch and yell loudly at games and Reddit.
I will say fuck you to any Ohio stage fan or husky fan in these environments. I won’t even mean it, it is just what we are suppose to do. But would give the shirt off my back to help if I can anybody that needs it, regardless of what team they root for.
This is civilized tribalism. No harm comes of it.
The nut jobs ( hmm aren’t buckeyes nuts ? Coincidence?). Take it too far and make life suck for everybody else.

Every fan base has them. The invasion of OSU fans on the ducks sub is ridiculous though. Our sub is small compared to ones like OSU, and they are just in here spouting toxicity. Definitely the kind of people responsible for Day having to get a security detail

You forget about Washington beating the snot out of us 72-21 in 2016? Or Utah whooping us 62-20 in 2016? Both at Autzen?
That Utah game I remember sitting in the stands, getting heatstroke, and realizing the Helf’s success the previous year was all Marcus Mariota. I wasn’t there for the Washington beat down, thank goodness.

I was at the Utah game. It wasn’t nearly this bad. That game was 28-13 at halftime. I know I don’t need to remind anyone, but we were down 31-0 with nearly 9 minutes left in the 2nd quarter yesterday.
Mercifully, I’ve blocked that Washington game from memory and can earnestly say I have no recollection of it whatsoever. At least that game was in a lost season rather than the fucking Rose Bowl. Woof.

The reason the Utah game felt worse to me is because we were clear favorites, and the game was in Autzen. And once the game started unraveling, the team completely gave up. It’s the only game I’ve ever left early.
Or maybe it felt worse to me because, like I said before, I got heatstroke and spent a good part of the rest of the next few hours vomiting…lol…it was a miserable day.

Seriously. I commented a few times on the ohiostate sub a few times in the week coming up to the game just to get "we live rent free" comments. And mostly on things that were "Boise vs Penn". I'm glad there are fans that aren't idiots - we aren't that either.
That's mostly washington fans 😅 just kidding, most of the wa fans in eugene were, to my annoyance, very lovely this year and a reminder that this is a game at the end of the day.

Impressed with your coach and program. Seems like a lot of really classy people involved with OU and I've not felt any animosity against y'all even after two straight losses against you. Best of luck going forward, against everyone but us. :)
Sorry if any Buckeye fans are acting like assholes. I've seen it come the other direction, too; I think people in general just can't act like normal, respectful people anymore - especially online. Don't believe the crap Herbstreit says and don't assume that a handful of inbred Ohio morons is representative of the entire fanbase.

Another OSU fan here. The ducks are absolutely a great add to the big 10.
The first OSU/Oregon game was the most entertaining game I watched all year. Keep in mind that the last big10 expansion brought us Maryland and Rutgers that we had to play every year. We’re glad to have you guys.

From an Oregon fan... Ohio State fans that are acting like that are the ones that are worried. They know they added a problem going forward. Someone in the conference that can not only play with them on the field but also on the recruiting trail and NIL.
I'm thankful for OSU as they were a measuring stick for the Ducks... and I'm thankful for the OSU trolls because it will be sweeter when we finally reach the mountain top.

OSU has been our postseason kryptonite for basically the whole history of the program and especially lately in major games with title implications. True there haven’t been all that many matchups, but there’s been enough heartbreak on our side at least that I think “rivalry” is where it’s heading, and personally I’m good with that.

As the son of a ducks fan, I can say this.
It would be easier to see the conference champion as a plus if the team had at least put up some fight during the Rose Bowl. Instead, the players made it clear from the first series that they came to LA to party and do nothing else. At least the teams that losy 17-26 and 20-42 did fold the moment they got punched in the mouth.

In case you're wondering, I did watch the game, and I just reported what I saw. The Ducks came off sluggish and never got going because the players were dazed and confused like they'd never seen any of Ohio State's plays before. The reason they stayed in it so long was because Lanning and the OC kept them there.
An example of where the Ducks started slow and lost was back on 2011 against USC. We got dominated in the 1st half but fought back to lose on a missed field goal. If that doesn't show that a team can turn thjngs around or that I give credit where it's due, I don't know what will.
What I saw on Wednesday was that we got punched in the mouth in the first two drives and struggled to get back up and fight until the 3rd quarter. We didn't look like a team that spent nearly a month preparing for the Rose Bowl. Sort of like how Colorado reacted to getting punched in the mouth by the Ducks in 2002 Fiesta Bowl.
I'm just calling it as I saw it.

Additionally after seeing this team win multiple close games this year to just shun its effort when yes even Dan admitted the plan could have been way better is just ridiculous. All I did was give my take on a public forum. I'm not sure why you're so upset that I had an opinion based on the 3.5 quarters of football I watched. I'm mostly over the loss, I was just upset for my dad and the fact he sat through the whole game.
Also, as I mentioned before. Shutting someone down and claiming they're ignorant because you don't like their take. That doesn't sound "toxic" 😳.

To be fair the only reason we won the last game against you guys was because we had the higher score when the time ran out. If you guys hadn’t had a shit ton of penalties, we would’ve lost.
Not to say, we didn’t earn our spot to where we were, but I knew this was gonna be a tough matchup.

I'm a fan of both UO and Michigan and I keep my affiliations separate in the individual team subreddits, I will use only on team's stuff to trash talk the rival teams. I miss the Pac 12 too I now have to deal with Oregon playing Michigan on a regular basis.

As an OSU fan, I'm pretty embarrassed 90% of the time by some of the heinous shit some other buckeye fans say. At the end of the day, this is a GAME. It's cool to be invested in a team, but fans who trash talk over something they weren't actually a part of is pretty cringe.
I apologize on behalf of the assholes who came to this sub to shit talk y'all. It's dumb and immature, and I hope they get the help they need.
