I love how beautifully nondescript some of the big government contractor names are. "Electric Boat". "General Dynamics". &c.

That's one name: General Dynamics Electric Boat founded in 1899 as the Electric Boat Company.

Isaac Rice also founded the Electric Car Company.

After Electric Boat bought Canadair, the argument was aircraft were very important so in 1952 they renamed the company General Dynamics, and EB became General Dynamics Electric Boat.

I was on the Alaska back in 2010 out of Kings Bay. Alert, confident and able. She’s a great boat.
