I feel like this could be a really fun post if you could spend a little bit of time setting the scene for us. What's going on?

The confused one...

I feel like the savant (telling your player the truth if they roll poorly and a lie if they roll well) is more deranged than the deranged (always saying the person is lying).

The Gamer is the only correct one for me regarding Insight. Low roll just means you don't know. Regarding Perception, The Paranoid is the correct one if you don't want to metagame. Your character doesn't know how high it rolled. Sometimes IRL I feel like I did a good job searching, but then still find the item I searched for in a place I searched.

Okay this took me a second to understand and it seems like others may be confused, but I believe: The phrase of it’s there/not there is for the perception checks and Lying/Not Lying is for Insight, the left squares are how the DM responds for things that are there and the Right Squares are how the DM responds to things that are not there, so for instance “The gamer” DM will tell you truthfully if something is there or not there if you role high but will be vague about it if you role low regardless of if it’s there. Maybe I’m the only one who struggled with this but in case you did I hope that helps

I think you did this wrong. So does the colour denote if "IT" is there or is "it" denoted by the column?

Should the resulting colour be showing the result of the columns and rows?

Like

id like to check to sell if shopkeep is lying to me.

[roll check] LYING NOT LYING
pass "you believe he is lying." "you believe he is truthful"
fail "you are unsure if he is honest." "you are unsure if he is honest."

[Side note. Never tried table format before. We will see if it works.]

Wow it worked. Shocking.

Edit: Sorry if you read this before edit. Didn't notice how spellcheck murdered what I said.

I am more than confused

Good idea but there's a bit too little information to understand what you mean

If I roll high, I trust whatever the DM says. If I roll low, I don't trust anything DM says. If the information is relayed without a roll, I assume it is true.

I weave between Gamer and Jokester, depending on the situation.

There should be one that is all yellow, because no matter how high you roll, there's always someone who can roll higher :-D

I don’t see it and I don’t know if you’re lying

Okay I get it !

Vertically, we have high or low roll on a Perception or Insight check.

Horizontally, we have wether there is something the PC could figure out. The first part is about Perception checks, the second part in parenthesis is about Insight checks.

The colors represent what the GM says to the players depending on their roll and wether there is something for the PC to figure out.

Each 2x2 represents a type of GM. So fore example, the Gamer will tell you "Yes, you see a thing" when you roll high AND there's something to see, 'No, there is nothing" when you roll high AND there's nothing to see, or 'You're not sure' when you roll low. Read the parenthesis to see what they do with Insight checks.

Hope that helps !
