They hop around

Excuse my poor videography. Saw a post about a week ago from another Southampton-er where we had the same murder, though a few years apart. A couple of the group (particularly the loud one) tend to find me at my home, but they’re all super cute and follow us while going on the dog walkies.

How am I just finding about this sub!? Anyways, I moved to Baltimore about 2 years ago and these guys are everywhere. I took this video last summer. Enjoy!!

I’ve been carrying peanuts for several weeks now, since crows started taking an interest in me feeding the swans here. I don’t always see them, but if they show up they let me know.

Now they’re getting closer than before. Excited to see how things develop from here!

I parked up at work earlier and paused to send a couple of texts before going in. These little guys recognised my car and came flapping straight down hollering for peanuts.

As per the second pic, the little one at the front has a lovely grey hood of feathers, like he has his winter scarf on 🪶

I never try to feed them by hand, but they let me get super close now before they hop off. I’m half expecting one of them to land on my head one of these days!

Someone’s Feeling Froggy This Morning

So this is how he normally talks to me - but he came over this morning and seemed stressed. I feed him every morning and then he hangs out and flirts for a bit- that caw you can tell he’s upset That worries me

I love hearing the little vocalizations from the one crow as he continues to dive bomb the eagle. Eventually the eagle said f this and flew away as y’all can see. It was captivating to watch.

These are my three buddies (Glossy, Crowley, and Crowlet)!!! Whenever I step outside, they materialize out of nowhere. They escort me to the corner sometimes! Or meet me at the corner and escort me home. I know our friendship is transactional (peanuts), but I love them so much.

The cedar sided building is a pizza place and a cafe, the furthest one on the left has a grocery store in the bottom. It’s the highest building in our village, so the Ravens hang out on that roof and announce when they get their next score which can be Airbnb garbage cans, pizza, fries, leftover breakfast and giant maple bars from the Huckleberry Inn.

My wife got this crow skull sculpture. I was hoping to put on the dashboard as a bobblehead. It is fashioned after the bobblehead in Nux's car from Mad Max Fury Road. It is quite heavy, so I think I will just keep it as a sculpture. If I ever build a battlecar, I will attach it to the dash with screws.

I’m just starting to get to know my local crows. There’s this super cute little group of them just outside my home, and I’ve been giving them pistachios. I figured everyone probably gives them peanuts so they might be a little bored of those. I’ve been super busy having to do dumb human things so I haven’t seen them that much lately, but I just came back from the store with a huge bag of unsalted pistachios to refill my jacket pockets and I am very excited for when I see them next and can chuck them some. I love those little guys, they’re so cool.

The last time this happened the Crows terrorized the Ravens until they left, but not this time around. Any ideas as to what could've changed?
