While I can commend Furr for his research on the Stalin Era that is much more useful than typical Bourgeois scholarship he has his limits.
He's far from being a Stalinist ideologically and still holds to liberalism in Essence(just so happens the form isn't against Stalin, and it hasn't been absorbed by Liberalism widely).
Rather than Turning the Stalinism/Stalinist claim "on its head" like Hoxha he rejects it outright and tries to remain "Objective"(Objective here means more akin to liberal "Unbiased" rather than Objective Truth, Material Reality, etc) rather than Partisanship for Marxism and Communism as Lenin urges Communists to do.
What needs to be done is to take Furr's work and go beyond his thoughts, beyond the Anti-Stalin Paradigm, Beyond Trotsky is a liar and Counter-Revolutionary, and actually see how better knowledge of the Moscow Trials and Purges can be applied in Practice.

If someone deserves the title of "stalinist", it is definitely professor Grover Furr, not some randos on the internet
