Hunting filming gear

Looking to get into filming hunts on a budget next year.

A buddy of mine just started getting into bow hunting whitetail last year. I’ve been archery hunting sense I was young and have always thought it’d be cool to film hunts but with having a close friend that I’ve hunted with a lot it’s peaked my interest a lot more lately.

Was curious if anyone had any recommendations for cameras and a self filming set up on a budget. Thanks!

I started messing around with it on a self filming level for a little challenge and used an old go pro 4 for the draw back action shot and then my iPhone 14 as my camera using the three pieces below.

Definitely won't be for filming a whole hunt, but I am interested in having video to review of the shot with it. I will be trying it out in the off season to make sure it does not impede my shooting, but it seems like a cool idea.

I have a gopro hero 7 and I brought it along with me on my hunts this year. I used this mount which was great as it was small and light for carrying in for my sits.

I strapped an extra power bank to it so that I could keep it in standby mode through the app and I just had to press the record button on my app when anything started heading my way. It was super easy to use, light, and gave me pretty good quality. This is the video I got of my first ever successful hunt of any type and I'm super happy to have gotten it.
