They didn't nominate Tyrant for RnB smh, she could have had 100 nominations in total

158

u/Cowardly_Serah Nov 08 '24

It’s her fault. She should have submitted II HANDS II HEAVEN instead of TYRANT.

52

u/elgav91 Nov 08 '24

I love ii hands ii heaven🥹

15

u/TrickyCriticism532 Nov 08 '24

Right like WHATT?

13

u/Character-Glass790 Nov 09 '24

ii hands ii heaven was an immediate favorite of mine but tyrant did sneak its way into my heart after a couple of listens. I can understand why that's the song they chose to submit.

It seems she deliberately wants to see if the Grammys will award her when she doesn’t submit to the R&B category. She’s testing them.

5

u/MrJB1981 Nov 08 '24

Amazing song! What a loss!

4

u/Beyllionaire Nov 09 '24

Unfortunately Tyrant is the most trap song of the album but it made no noise...

2 hands 2 heaven had a challenge so it had better chances

u/HumbleBowler175 Nov 08 '24

genres are a funny little concept aren’t they

13

u/Burntlegs Nov 09 '24

Yes indeed

7

u/wintergrad14 Nov 09 '24

🫶🏼🫶🏼

151

u/tbing34 Nov 08 '24

It is also the most nominated album in Grammy history!

u/IfigurativelyCannot Nov 08 '24

Her genre-blending on CC let her submit different songs to Pop, Country, Rap, and Americana song categories in addition to general field.

That's my queen!

u/Bonkszzz Nov 08 '24

Call me a pessimist but I’m not keeping my fingers crossed, if she wins 1 or 2 then cool!

19

u/iamnotinventive Nov 09 '24

No shade at all cos I’m a hag hive, but I feel like the older fans are more jaded - all this to say I agree with you but I think it’s because we’ve watched her not get her deserved accolades for so long. Hopefully we’re wrong

12

u/Bonkszzz Nov 09 '24

I’m older too and I feel at this point of her career it doesn’t really matter. It’ll probably look cute on her shelf but in the grand scheme of things, with all she accomplished no one outside of us or her really cares that much lol.

7

u/csimpson1992 Nov 09 '24

I agree. I think if she didn’t get AOTY for Lemonade or Renaissance she won’t get it for CC. Maybe I’m jaded hag hive too 😂

2

u/Sburtonjo Nov 11 '24

I actually think she could win AOTY for CC, however, she deserved it more for Lemonade or Self-Titled.
I think of it like how everyone was so shocked that Leonardo DiCaprio had never won a best actor oscar although he had been nominated several times, THEN he won for The Revenant. Good movie, good performance, but he deserved it long before that.
Same with Bey, she deserved it a long time ago, so I imagine they'll give it to her now..

But I could be wrong. I'm hag hive too and sadly jaded by the letdowns.

2

u/TheAmmiSquad Nov 10 '24

And there's tons of evidence to back it. The most devastating were the Grammys where she won 2 awards for Lemonade. That night was such a strong reminder that coloured brilliance /GOATedness is still inferior to white mediocrity. Then you see Renaissance lose to Harry's house and are also reminded of self-titled losing to Beck and there's unfortunately a recurring theme.

25

u/jesscreepin32 Nov 08 '24

I’m with you. I’m not optimistic she’ll win any of them 😬

56

u/DareSaintCorsair Nov 08 '24

I thought the girls were upset that it was her shortest charting album.

Great genre-bending career-defining art ...sometimes...isn't that popular at the time that it released to the public.

LOUDER.

Yes gawd.

36

u/fostve Nov 09 '24

I wish American Requiem could’ve gotten its own nomination. Powerful song.

33

u/Lydhee Nov 08 '24

QUEEN ❤️❤️❤️❤️

21

u/beyforever Beyonce for president! Nov 08 '24

Why did my mind think the title was going to say, "With 11 Grammy Nominations, Cowboy Carter has won ALBUM OF THE YEAR!!!!!" lol. Congrats Bey❤

14

u/MrEverything917 Nov 08 '24

I need her to get every last trophy in the country categories SPECIFICALLY

33

u/Ray--man Nov 08 '24

She will win AOTY! Mark my words!

55

u/Bonkszzz Nov 08 '24

Here we go again lol

35

u/elgav91 Nov 08 '24

I've already had too much disappointment this year

4

u/Character-Glass790 Nov 09 '24

I've already spent my disappointment quota for the year. At this point I hope for nothing and just am happy to see these nominations.

1

u/jessi_survivor_fan Nov 10 '24

Watch Brat or The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess win because they were more integral to the year than Cowboy Carter. We literally had a Brat Summer and I could not get away from Hot To Go.

11

u/Lopsided-Arm-6644 Nov 08 '24

The First Lady of Music doing what she always does . SLAYYYYYY

11

u/MrEverything917 Nov 08 '24

11 nominations..spanning 4 Genres..plus Album...Record...and Song of the year!

There is nothing to be said...

GIVE HER EVERYTHING!!!

9

u/SubstantialCar3578 Nov 08 '24

it’s what she deserves

28

u/KatKittyKatKitty Nov 08 '24

Can we stop calling it a flop now?

20

u/SadAsexulWitch THAT time in the elevator when Sol—🤐 Nov 08 '24

Who is “we”? 🤨🤨

3

u/johnmichael-kane 4 Nov 09 '24

I can count on two hands the number of posts that started with “why isn’t the album selling better, is it because she didn’t promote it, this is her worst album in terms of charting, etc. etc.” 😂😅

2

u/SadAsexulWitch THAT time in the elevator when Sol—🤐 Nov 09 '24

Then they should make it clear that they’re talking about those people, not using collective pronouns like “we” to seemingly refer to the entire ‘hive….

1

u/Acceptable_Ball4980 Nov 09 '24

It felt like a damn near big ass majority. Now ppl flip flopping like some of us werent 10 toes down defending CC against huge portion of the hive going "no visuals but a whiskey brand she really is a capitalist!"

2

u/Acceptable_Ball4980 Nov 10 '24

Edit Y'all downvoting and getting mad like I can't name names lol.

2

u/Character-Glass790 Nov 09 '24

When did we start?

8

u/escapist011 Nov 09 '24

I swear....if this album doesn't get AOTY...

19

u/MagnaCamLaude Nov 09 '24

Did you see who won President?

6

u/Kanzaki_Kikuchi B'Day Nov 08 '24

Long may she reign ❤️👑

When I saw how much she was nominated I was so fucking proud and excited!

TW: Election 2024 ✋🏾 And then, because of the election outcome, the inauguration will have happened, and frankly who knows. So regardless of how problematic the recording academy is, this years show is going to be inherently political.

As such I was like heaven God father son and Holy Spirit do not let some foolishness happen regardless of who wins (my fears on that are another story (and subreddit) altogether 🙃) and the fact she was nominated at all. We have to be realistic and acknowledge there was a very vocal crowd of haters and critics who share a lot of overlap with people who have already started showing the worst of themselves and posting openly vile misogynistic, racist shit online.

Idk, this week has me paranoid. Anything coming up I’m just trying to brace myself for it to be impacted/influenced by whatever is happening. And unfortunately we have no idea of the speed of impact until we’re in it. I’m trying my damnedst to be hopeful and excited for upcoming things, and I truly believe I am, but I also don’t want to be naive either.

5

u/grroovvee Nov 09 '24

I dont think she’s going to win any. They love to play in peoples faces especially hers and nominate her for a bunch of stuff and give her zilch.

3

u/IndividualSyllabub14 always stay gracious, best revenge is your paper Nov 08 '24

3

u/cetruth Nov 09 '24

Both her and Jayz are the most nominated artists together I believe, they were tied with 88, now he’s at 89, she’s surpassed him obviously now, but as a couple, that’s a hell of a collective flex. 🐐

2

u/MrJB1981 Nov 08 '24

Definitely well deserved.

2

u/portraitoffire schoolin' life Nov 09 '24

we love to see it! queen bey stays winning! <3

3

u/Lady_Samara Nov 09 '24

Wishing her the best, but the petty Hiver in me wants her to be punished for neglecting II HANDS II HEAVEN.

3

u/wintergrad14 Nov 09 '24

God only, god only knows why

4

u/jaggedjuke Nov 08 '24

I know it doesn’t really matter but doesn’t this not hit the same after Jay Z making that speech?

11

u/Apprehensive-Top9635 Nov 08 '24

Ugh I know his intentions were good , she’s his wife after all but I wish he didn’t say anything !

2

u/Character-Glass790 Nov 09 '24

Honestly, I remember him saying something but I don't remember exactly what it was. I feel like she really didn't put him up to that and would have preferred if he hadn't, just based on how silent she has always been on the issue. Because of that, it doesn't change my perspective on this achievement for her. It doesn't "hit different" for me personally.

1

u/Bonkszzz Nov 08 '24

I said this the next day because it would look like she got it out of pity/begging

Isn’t it the most nominated album ever or something?

1

u/JustHereForTheTea44 Nov 09 '24

This is cool and all but be prepared that some guy who was popular in the 1970s will win instead. 😒

They’ve been playing in our faces since before Jesus was born.

1

u/EarlyInspector9342 Nov 09 '24

They’re setting her up for disappointment AGAIN

1

u/surejan81 Nov 10 '24

Of course I want CC to win album of the year, but the way I wood cackle if it won best country album of the year after being snubbed at the CMAs 🧙🏽‍♀️

1

u/smileliketheradio Nov 09 '24

all i can say is thank god this is the new rules on who receives the grammy for AOTY if they win cause I'm selfishly glad it means Bey wouldn't (if she wins) have to share the thing with fifty-eleven people: "Artist, featured artist, producer, songwriter (of new material), mastering engineer, and recording engineer or mixer (only those who were credited on at least 20% playing time of the album)"

0

u/ItgirlfromBBA Nov 08 '24

Well. Grammys people just wanted to live

0

u/LivelyUnicorn Nov 08 '24

Not for long…
