I genuinely don’t understand this.
Romney supported 99% of Republican bills and opposed 99% of democrat bills. He just didn’t like Trump, so now he’s a RINO.
Sorry, Trump doesn’t get to define whether you’re a republican or not.

I can’t believe this guy was actually the republican presidential candidate at one point

u/NuclearTheology Libertarian Conservative Sep 13 '23
I remember him being VISCOUS debating the other Republican candidates, but debating Obama he became as passive as a new born puppy.

Can't believe I actually voted for him. I mean, the alternative was Obama, but still...

The end of this episode had me fall out of my chair. The last line was unexpected and absolutely perfect.

Can we get a reminder?

Stan's father says okay, NOW your vote doesn't matter after all fhe animal rights people got murdered

u/jrodricks2404 Sep 13 '23
Why? You don't like reasonable people. He was always truthful about cutting Medicare and SSN.

The dude might as will be a Democrat.
You’re not going to get 100% of what you want, so yes, you have to compromise. But compromise does not mean give him the other side 75% of what they want and surrendering faster than the French do.

Dude had a binder of woman before it was cool. It’s like the modern left was pissed at him and then stole his playbook.

I’m fully expecting in his retirement he’ll do the whole “I’m the good guy old republican and I’m here to tell you the party has changed and they are all evil far right nazis now” on CNN

Haha. Senator Romney had no chance of being re-elected. So he’s “retiring@ like so many other R’s that went against Trump. Gutless to the end.

u/abeljon Sep 14 '23
Oh he was going to be reelected. Its Utah, and they Always vote for the annointed ...

Why can’t they all walk away after 75? Honestly, retirement age sh r the same as ours. I’m tired of old fucks who can’t formulate sentences deciding what we are allowed to do and what they are allowed to steal from us to spend

Why does everyone here hate mitt Romney, because he voted for impeachment or are there other reasons? Seems like he made a very unpopular decision (among his party) based on principles. If that is the reason that seems commendable, if anything, even if you disagree with the principles.

He is the father of Universal healthcare! Which led to the ACA.. Neither are Affordable.. And Romney care collapsed..
1
u/twaldman Sep 14 '23
Thank you for your response. But that doesn’t seem like a reason to hate him—just a policy decision that you disagreed with.
1
u/abeljon Sep 14 '23
Yw. I don't hate the guy. More like disappointed in his performance in the debates and as a Senator.
1
u/abeljon Sep 20 '23
I could bring up his plagerism, or his 1994 crime bill, or his racism, or his part in the failed ACA.. There is a long history of Bidens failures in the Senate to pick from.
The personal corruption is a given..
1
u/twaldman Sep 20 '23
Relevance? No one asked about Biden
1
u/abeljon Sep 21 '23
Senior moment on my part. All these old guys act the same, Romney, Biden, only one can still make complete sentences..

“sad day”? What a clown. You and Romney are both welcome to leave.
-15
u/jrodricks2404 Sep 13 '23
Romney is more conservative than Trump. He called for cuts on entitlements which is 67% of our budget, whereas RINO Trump wants to expand the entitlements.
9
u/Foobucket Sep 13 '23
Trump clearly lives rent-free in your small head. Why bring Trump into this discussion? I can dislike Romney without being obligated to like Trump or anyone else. Once again, you're a clown.
4
Sep 14 '23
If Romney could get elected governor in a far left state like Massachusetts, he is not a conservative.

I bet they strategized and said he could be more effective “retired” and continue to do speaking engagements/punditry.
RINO/Uniparty at work.

Watching the GOP tear itself apart calling their own longserving members RINOs puts a smile to everyone on the left.

When you’re looking at other 80 somethings lose their minds on camera, I can respect taking an introspective look and deciding retiring. Regardless of politics, these grandparents need to start being grandparents.

Good for him. He played the game, won more than he lost, and then quit while he's still mentally competent. There are too many Diane Feinsteins and Mitch McConnells out there still trying to play the game well past their prime.

It's not a sad day It's a great day to get rid of these bums McConnell, Graham need to go too!
