Can't we just open a web browser with these apps?? I have never downloaded any of these apps on my Mac.

That’s the point. You skip App Store this way.

Well then if that's the case, I don't understand why people are complaining.

I can see people wanting to get the Netflix app to download a movie for an airplane trip. But everything else should be fine with just Safari and wifi.

Browser apps always suck compared to native apps. Get out of 2008.

There's something to be said for having a system with minimal installs.

So on your computer you download the youtube and spotify apps??

I can see the use on a phone or tablet but I never go through the hassle of downloading those apps on my mac or windows pc when it is quicker to just enter "YouTube" in safari as opposed to going to an app store, clicking download, installing and wasting space on my device.

Get out of your own crusty ass buddy :p

To each their own but the Vision Pro not having these specific apps is not a deal breaker for me as I would have just opened the Safari app anyway.

I 100% use Spotify on desktop, and most of my coworkers do too.

I am not explaining why people complain. I don’t ^

These companies should be able to detect and block Vision Pro from accessing. Remember these companies are very pretty. Google went to lengths to block YouTube on fire stick and Windows phone.

I hope they refuse to support vision pro though personally.

You hope they don't let you open a safari page on the Vision Pro? That's just silly. Especially if you aren't buying anyway lmao

I guess we will see how petty they are in a couple of weeks or so

I am petty too. I want apps to refuse supporting vision pro and Apple has to invest in better terms for App Store especially they have shown how much they can bully devs every update.

There will soon be a EU regulation that will allow other app stores and side loading on iPhones, you don't have to be petty/childish and wish ill to the users 😅

I agree that Apple should not charge so much in their App Store monopoly to devs. I disagree with consumers suffering due to pettiness but to each their own

IIRC they cap bitrate and resolution quality on browser and strong-arm you into their dedicated apps if you want actual 4k, higher data, and so on.

Indeed I prefer the YouTube website to their iOS app (mostly because I’m not paid and the app is far more creative in finding ways to thrust ads into my tired eyes)

That's what was written in the article. You still can use their website.

I think Safari only allows one running tab at a time.

So if you have Netflix website open you can’t search Google while having Netflix playing concurrently.

I do this on my Mac all the time with Safari. It would be odd if we cannot do this on VP.

You can have multiple windows on your Mac, but I think Vision Pro is based on iPad and iPad only allows 1 tab open at a time.
