It's funny you say that, because every time I use the iOS app it's smoother and nicer than the Android app.

I just think they have shit app devs lol. Most of what makes Spotify “good” seems to be the backend, server stuff like search, connect, algorithms, etc.

As an Android user their disregard for the Android application was what pushed me to YouTube Music.

That’s because iOS apps are better in general because they have to jump through apple’s hoops.

It could also just be that iOS hardware is on average just more powerful and iOS prioritizes smoothness of the interface to be as close to the screen refresh rate as possible

No, it's moreso the fragmented nature of Android making it tougher to develop for and the larger iOS user base in major markets like the US making iOS app more of a priority.
