So if this is the case, the next Apple Watch is going to be a downgrade from last and this year’s models, especially the Ultra 1 & 2.

How so?

There’s a legal battle with their blood oxygen sensor against a medical company. People are betting Apple will lose this one and won’t be able to implement the sensor in future watch models, which won’t reflect well with sales.

The more likely case if they do lose is they will just pay damages and a licensing fee for the tech. It's become a boiler plate feature for other smart watches and Apple is not going to leave that on the table.

The damages likely make the feature financially on-viable. They wouldn’t be pulling the product otherwise, it signals they are already over the barrel and will only make it more expensive to settle.
