Don't know about the size of your property, but have you considered a livestock guardian dog? Most are bred for larger livestock but with some training some puppies turn out to be amazing chicken guards.

I've also heard that you can spray faux predator urine (Puma and Wolf urine might work to deter them iirc) around the perimeter

I love this idea! Get a livestock guardian dog to guard your chickens and make the bobcat think twice before going after your chickens and any other livestock. A sheepdog, border collie, GSD, or go all out and get a 150 lb Anatolian Shepherd!

You could call animal control to see what could be done about relocating your new neighbor. They’ll be able to give you better advice about what is legal, permissible, or possible than anyone on this sub.

Work in wildlife management, won't move a cat for being a cat. Would definitely focus on educating owners on best options to fortify his chicken habitat.

Agreed. Cats are opportunistic hunters. If it goes a while not being able to get the fowl, it should move on

Absolutely. I'm still curious about what state this happened in though.

Also, if food isnt abundant in that area then of course the Bobcat is going to take advantage of free food lol

My pont being, animals don't receive "protected" status unless there's a very good reason.

Bobcat populations are strong across the US, so granting them protected status would be nonsensical
