I would guess shooting lanes for hunting. Hunter sits at where the lines meet and has clear line of sight lanes they can shoot down.

I think that might be it. I was wondering if it might be mining related because this area was known for anthracite mining.

My first thought was old logging trails? They skid the logs out of the woods to a common site where they're loaded onto the trucks.
