Is this a wasp? Or hornet Image

It got inside my house and I fear there are more. We did have a stump guy cut some trees recently and did tell us that there was a wasp nest on the bottom of one of the stumps closes to the house and now I fear it's one of the ones from there seeking vengeance

That’s a Yellowjacket you have there. Nasty little fuckers.

that one is big, if I'm using my context clues correctly. Maybe a queen looking to overwinter somewhere warm, that now is dead.

That’s a really good sized one for sure. I’m unsure of how to differentiate between a queen and a regular Yellowjacket. I’m definitely no entomologist.

Queens are bigger and have spots on their thorax.

Yeah, I saw the spots and am inclined to believe that is a queen

When I discover any in the ground by us I go at night with a can of Sevin dust, dump it down the hole and surrounding the hole, and cover it with a bucket so nothing gets into it. They'll crawl through it and take it deep into the nest killing everyone! They're evil!!!

It’s dead, that’s all that matters.
