Fixed Headphones OTHER

Post image

The fake leather on my headphones started flaking off. The pads wouldn't come off without ungluing, so I used a thick needle and yarn to wrap the padding.

Love it! Nice work. Pleather and rubberized finishes are two of my pet peaves.

Truly, the fake leather never stays nice long.

This is such a great idea! I'm facing the same problem, and have been wondering how to fix.

How did you thread the needle thru without messing with the adhesive? Was it pretty inuitive?

I gently wrapped the yarn around the foam, trying to stay as close to the adhesive as possible. It was a lot of working by feel and poking the needle through the foam until it was in the right place.

Sometimes I picked up the material over the speakers too, but it seems like not an issue.

Be gentle with the wrapping and don't pull too tight. It took me awhile, so have patience and a good show to watch.

This is so smart! I'm getting tired of replacing the foam pieces. They always end up shedding in a year or two. What's the fiber content of your yarn?

Honestly not sure, it came from my stash unlabeled. It feels like a wool blend.

Yeah, looks like sock wool. Nice!

omg I love this! the leather on mine is flaking now. I might have to learn to knit just so I can do this. How do they feel on the ears?

No knitting necessary! Just wrapping yarn really. They feel pretty nice so far!
