looking for safety and durability Buying
what would you recommend for a used car, specifically between about 2010-2020 that has great safety ratings along with low maintenance costs? i want something that will keep me going for a while without racking up repair bills, and also something that i can feel comfortable in while on the road with all these crazy drivers lol. i’ve only ever had a honda civic and a buick century, both 2000, so i think i’d like another sedan but that’s really my only stipulation along with preferably under 15k. also something that will do well in a cold and snowy climate!

You can find decent Toyotas and Hondas in that price range that should fit the bill, and some others are okay. Prius's are some of the most reliable cars, and easy on gas which is a major expense over time. For reliability ratings and used car suggestions by price range consult the Consumer Reports Used Car guide. Some libraries carry it or you can purchase it outright, it can save one considerable money by guiding them toward better cars and away from problem prone ones. With any car get a pre-purchase inspection from an independent mechanic not connected to the seller.

I personally like a full size sedan so 2011 or newer Avalon with the 3.5 V6 currently have over 200k on mine and outside of wear items brakes tires etc the only repair was an alternator and a set of spark plugs. It's basically a Camry that looks classier

Subaru if you just want a make to consider that’s overall good.
But realistically, you need to do a lot of research and compare model to model. Safety features became a lot more prevalent in the 2010s and it’s going to be very hit or miss
