Tis the season of the salt in the Northeast…

This is after a 20 minute drive. Gotta love NY! You can be driving on dry roads on a clear day and still see a plow dumping salt. Hose gets a lot of use this time of year.

No way this things not going to rust out, use it as a summer driver. Might need something else for the winter

🤷‍♂️It’ll rust out eventually, just the way it goes.

Greetings fellow New Yorker lol! You don't see many Toyota pickups in that nice of shape up here all too often- all that salt eats them unfortunately :c. Nice truck!!

Yeah, I don’t see others often. This truck would’ve been a cube many years ago but luckily it was out west until a few years ago. I try to keep it clean.

I hope you use fluid film or woolwax

I usually use Krown, an oil-based undercoating. Decided to try Fluid Film this year and I’m pretty unimpressed. Washes off way easier than oil-based, back half of the frame was bare after a couple rainy drives.

I did woolwax on daily and I haven't checked under it yet to see how it's doing. I think they have a version that dries harder kind of like 3m cavity wax that I may try on my next application.

Interesting, I could see that being more water-resistant. I usually take mine someplace to have the undercoating done but I had the bed off fixing a brake line so I figured I’d be able to get better access to nooks and crannies myself.
