You can see where your eyes are at in the reflection and it ain’t in the center. Way too high. The lamps are ridiculous.

Too high. Too much tacky shit.

I'll let my wife know.

The lamps are actually nice —just not where they are. Maybe on a sofa console or at the entry. If you do nothing, at least remove the dish towel 🤦♂️

Try again. You should just give your wife a painted picture of a TV as framed art, that way she can use it as a back drop for any knick knacks she wants to put in-front of it. Also, ensure said framed tv art work is not at eye level.

But height is best you can do. If you can recline at all on the couch I’d say leave it. My tv about same height after making room for the center speaker. It’s not egregiously high, so I’d say not worth the effort to tinker

Oh yeah, we all just kinda slouch on the couch and it's fine. No chiropracter bills so far...

Almost… should have gotten a smaller tv so you wouldn’t block it with the lamps /s

Please ignore the lamps (my wife loves to put crap in front of the TV for "reasons" so I have to constantly move them but it's not being watched like that) and the amp and Xbox (both temporary, no longer there). For reference, the TV is 85" and the room has 8' ceilings.
I can't really go any lower unless I remove the feet from the console, which would probably work, but I like how they look and it would require me to completely remount the TV as there is no way to simply lower it without pulling out the lag bolts.

The lamps cannot be ignored. Tell her to stop putting stuff in front of the TV! It’s silly to keep moving them every day.

You should see the flowers that she puts in front of the TV in the bedroom.

Why is that even a thing? Do some people think partially blocking the TV is a decoration requirement? I really don’t get it.

Even though it’s criminal to block a screen, I’d love to see the flowers she puts there

why are your speakers so big?

If they still sound good and work they're likely better than most new stuff out there.
@OP I think it looks good minus the lamps :D

Huh? It's not like floor standers are obsolete. Soundbars and small format mesh systems are better than most TV speakers sure but the best audio is still achieved by discrete surround layouts. Small satellites and a sub can get decent results but there's no replacement for displacement as they say and larger cabinets and drivers will always mean better low end and a more complete soundstage.
