Always go further than whatever you want to see on Strava.

So real, ran a 21.2km half marathon the other day for this same damn reason

I do when I cycle. But, this was a set 2000m row with the Concept2. The PM5 starts at 2000m and goes to 0m as you row. The workout stops when you finish.

Then you’ll want to set or stop at like 2200m

I know I can set further distances. My point is that Strava should just work. I do a 2000m row. Concept2 shows a 2000m row. It directly uploaded a 2000m row. Strava should show a 2000m row. It is pretty simple. I shouldn't have employ workarounds for Strava to show correct data.

Dude, it’s been a thing for over a decade now, you either get over it, or find a different service. Strava is too busy these days gargling AI-tech-bro scrotum to bother fixing issues that have plagued it since inception.

Yes. I guess it was more of a vent than asking for a fix from other users. It is frustrating that Strava won't/don't fix something so simple. I always ride extra when cycling but this is my first time getting shorted on a structured indoor workout like rowing.
Unfortunately, they don't really have a competitor so all we can do is complain and hope they get around to it. I do keep all my workouts in spreadsheet for when they day comes that I finally tell them to pound salt.

The funny thing is that IDGAF what comes up on Stava since Garmin is my main hub for my data. I only use Strava to see what my peasant friends are doing with their Apple Watches, Fitbits, and whatever devices are used by the poor.
On a serious note I have just come to accept that I have to run a little further, cycle a little further, hike a little further as to not get shortchanged.
I am going to start using "Strava tax" anytime I run into these issues from now on because you just KNOW your friends will call you out on it every single time 🤣

Using a Garmin Edge cycling, I've never had Strava shorten the distance that the unit says, it's always exact.

What?

I did a 2000m row and Strava only gave me 1998m. It always seems to short you on workouts with no explanation. It is jokingly called the "Strava tax".

How did you get the row to record? Did you use a separate app as I assume it wasn’t a manual entry?

I'm not sure what you mean. The C2 was connected to my iPhone so the C2 computer (PM5) and iPhone are in sync during the workout. Once the workout is completed, the C2 logbook app on my iPhone automatically uploads to Strava via app integration.

Oh, I wasn’t aware this was possible?
I’ll have to check that out when I’m in the gym next. Thanks!

At my gym the PM5 Has bluetooth disabled so I can’t connect to phone, i just start my garmin, row the distance and take a photo when done, add photo to strava post. Unfortunately the rows don’t get added to my C2 log, but I think you can manually do that

I’ve had the same issue with Strava and C2. I was a loyal subscriber to Strava for 8 years, but between them being too lazy to fix issues like this and the price hike fiasco I cancelled. I really haven’t missed it.

This subject specific to the Concept2 has come up before. I believe this is the best explanation.
