r/StarWars Anakin Skywalker Mar 23 '21

I’ve recently been made aware that a lot of younger Star Wars fans (understandably) aren’t aware that Sebastian Shaw was the original ghost of Anakin, and that Hayden was edited onto Sebastian’s body in 2004. So this is for those who might not know! Meta

He doesn't need to say no!!! We saw his emotion through the mask!!! I hate that Lucas did that man smh.

Same here. I’d drop whatever they charged for a 4k remaster of the original release.

For me, the worst is the first 'no...'

Also, removing the storm trooper hitting his head on the door frame.

I would pay good money for a lovingly restored theatrical cut. With the resources and access to original elements of the studio.

Harmy really went above and beyond. Also the TK versions are wonderful.

I dislike both the Jabba song change and the ending song change, but I still say yes it’s worse. In both the scene where Luke first turns himself in to Vader, and the scene where Vader flips to the light side, the director did an incredible job having the character convey emotion through simple mannerisms. They are perfect examples of “show, don’t tell”. Having Vader scream “noooooo” craps all over that work, because the narration is literally unnecessary. It was nothing more than Lucas trying to jam in his “it’s like poetry. It rhymes” bullshit.
