Vader with a Deagle barely flinching from recoil? Lore accurate Vader

u/Zerus_heroes 13h ago
Desert Eagles are very heavy, which greatly reduces the kick. Most people could shoot it like this if they tried.
10
u/Jinn_Skywalker 12h ago
Most people I’ve seen still get a bit more kickback that what this guy does
→ More replies15
u/Zerus_heroes 12h ago
Unless they are incredibly weak they really shouldn't. I have one that I shoot all the time and people are intimidated by it. When they actually shoot it almost always the first thing they say is "wow that doesn't kick as bad as I thought."

It's not the kick, it's the way your teeth and eyeballs vibrate every time it goes off

Oh! It's .50? I was wondering why he couldn't control the muzzle flip on a .45 when he could on a pistol grip 12 ga

I'm honestly surprised the shooting range allowed this with Vader's helmet limiting so much of his view.
Still though... this is a scary sight

Maybe he owns the place or knows the owner 🤷♂️
Also there’s a sporting clays course an hour from me that is basically come and go as you want and you pay on the honor system by leaving cash if they aren’t there

u/Aramor42 9h ago
Maybe he owns the place or knows the owner 🤷♂️
I'm pretty sure this is GunDrummer from YouTube. He pretty much always shoots at that range so I'm guessing it's indeed one of those two options.

u/Educational_Row_9485 Obi-Wan Kenobi 11h ago
That sounds incredibly illegal, I’m assuming you have to bring your own gun?
6
u/Obi_Wan_Gebroni 10h ago
I mean, you have to supply your own guns and ammo. They just leave the launchers and periodically restock them with more clays. It’s just some button pushing to use the course.
I’ve never actually been to this course but have some friends who have done it.

u/Educational_Row_9485 Obi-Wan Kenobi 10h ago
Yeah that makes sense then, when I first read I was thinking wtf they just leave a bunch of guns lying around then I realised how stupid that is 😂

Yeah, seems like the mask and gloves are defenitly affecting his gun control. Not super dangerous, but not a safety first approach either.
7
u/skribsbb 11h ago
Lots of guns are designed to be used with gloves. He has good trigger discipline (it's hard to see because of black gloves over a black gun, but his finger is off the trigger of the .50 until he settles into a firing position). He has good muzzle discipline (always pointing downrange).
I don't see any safety issues.

u/Wes_Warhammer666 5h ago

This is a moron.
He is acting in a completely unsafe manor.
I'm assuming it's a He, could be a she, but who ever they are, they should have all their guns taken away.

u/Destroyer1559 11h ago edited 10h ago
How exactly? The guns were always pointed down range, or in another safe direction. I really didn't see any unsafe behavior, and I'm around guns a lot. Did you just not like firing from the hip, or a shooter wearing a costume? Neither of these actions are inherently unsafe. Both of those things can absolutely be done in a safe manner, and appear to have been.
Edit: ah, downvotes without an explanation. Unsurprising.

3
u/CornPopThePornCop 10h ago
They can't explain it because there's nothing inherently unsafe here, like you said. Worst that happened was the muzzle blast from the .50 took out a drum and some recording equipment, which I'm assuming was somewhat disposable since he didn't even flinch.
1
u/Minimum_Apricot1223 Kanan Jarrus 8h ago
Obviously obscured vision, no target acquisition, high trajectory on multiple rounds fired (unless the berm is extremely close) and yes hip firing. You can have fun at the range but you can't be a dumb fucking ass hole about it.
1
u/Destroyer1559 3h ago
obscured vision, no target acquisition
Assumptions. They're tinted goggles, and he was perfectly able to move and handle guns without fumbling them, so I'm sure he could see well enough. He raised the Deagle to his eyeline so I'm sure he could see the sights. Plenty of people shoot with tinted sunglasses. And if you think it's shooting with a restricted FoV that's unsafe, wait until you learn about shooting under night vision.
high trajectory on multiple rounds fired (unless the berm is extremely close)
Another assumption. You don't know how close or tall the berm is, and neither do I. I shoot at a range where the berm is a hill, hundreds of feet tall, and some targets are dozens of feet up it. Again, perfectly safe.
hip firing
Again, not inherently unsafe when fired in a safe direction.
Just be honest and say you don't like guns or having fun shooting them, man.

Ok, so, as someone who hasn’t fired a gun in a decade and wasn’t super knowledgeable even then, why would you wrap your thumb over the top of the shotgun barrel? Doesn’t it get hot? Or would it take, like, dozens of rounds (or shells in this case) before the barrel started to heat up to a noticeable degree?

You think maybe Ani used the Tuskens' own slugthrowers against them while he was slaughtering them like animals?
Like he probably knew he wouldn't be able to parry the bullets so when he sensed a Tuskie lining up a shot he Force pulls the gun then shoots em right in between his goggles.

Kenobi:…what is that?
Anakin: it’s a mark 1 desert eagle
Kenobi: where’d you get it?
Anakin: why does this matter?
Kenobi: well because it’s not supposed to be here! There are no bullets in Star Wars!
Anakin: yeah there are, Mandalorians had them.
Kenobi: aaand where did you hear this?
Anakin: Wikipedia!

Question for gun nerds: With massive recoil like on the .50, do they have tech that automatically "scrunches" the scope when the trigger is pulled? That seems like it would make a sniper more effective while reducing the risk of smashing one's eyesocket. I suppose that introduces the risk of injury through mechanical failure and another thing to replace/maintain so I guess maybe I answered my own question.
