Man. Jude Law better get a Emmy nomination for his portrayal. I actually hate his character! Law is AMAZING. He has no social redeeming qualities. Unless, there is a huge swerve next episode. I really hope not. He deserves to have his Captain Hook death or something PG equivalent. 10/10.

There’s a very high possibility he’ll flip sides at the last second to help the kids/At-Attin should (when) the pirates get through the Barrier and start an attack. He’ll still die, but be seen as a hero.

I thought that’s what was coming before this episode. Threatening to slaughter the kids’ parents made him irredeemable lol

I don't know this is Star Wars you can commit genocide in this story and still be redeemable

Hey. Those younglings had it coming. They called Anakin “Master” Skywalker when that was clearly a touchy subject for him right then.

I think the way to redeem him is for Wim to remind him of what it means to really be a Jedi.

I’m torn on if I want this to happen more, or if I want Jod to go ahead and go out as a villain (thwarted by the kids of course). Both options would work for me. Either way, I definitely trust the writers of this show to end strong.

I want him to live, jod is just to good of a character.

u/ChanceVance Kylo Ren 2d ago

Kylo stands by as Starkiller Base extinguishes billions of lives
"Yeah but Ben's a good dude, I swear he is really is"

Like if they want to redeem Jod, it's possible. He's a ruthless pirate but Vader and Kylo were complicit in genocide, Revan led a war and Imperial Special Forces defected to the Rebellion. Jod would be Top 5 of worst people to be redeemed at most lol.

My thought was that Brutus was going to send a team after the kids and Jod would depose him and then have to choose between saving the kids and collecting the treasure. I don’t think you can walk back threatening to torture and kill their parents in front of them though…

Threatening kids? Irredeemable. Killing kids in the jedi temple? Redeemable apparently.

Yeah him claiming he’s actually hated the children from the beginning and the fact he’s gotten progressively worse since the tells me he’s more than likely dying from his greed which is now in absolute overdrive.

Have you seen Treasure Planet or read Treasure Island? Long John Silver in that movie has a LOT of parallels to Jod, I could see a similar arc.

There’s no way the pirate ship gets through. I think Jod is legit just the bad guy.

Doubt it he's going to be redeemed this season. More like he's going to get jailed, and maybe a potential redemption in the next season since he's popular enough.

Seeing how he reacted to the vault, I could see him getting buried alive in a sea of dataries as they seal the vault.

u/hypermark 3d ago

Yeah, he's going the way of Elsa in Last Crusade.

9

u/LetItATV 3d ago

Exactly.

My first thought when they finally made it all the way down to the vault is that Jod was now completely vulnerable to whatever power controls At Attin.

That was a loooooong elevator ride down. There’s no getting out if the Supervisor chooses to lock things up.

It definitely feels like the kinda show to go all "poetic death" with the villain.

I definitely see an outcome where he's buried in a sea of credits, gets locked in a vault and can't get out, etc.

Honestly a lightsaber had never felt more intimidating, except maaaaybe in Rogue One – but even then, the rebels were just guys, not kids we have had the time to get to know

I wasn't really expecting that hallway scene in Rogue One, so halfway through I was like, "holy shit, they're not going to make it!" Like I actually forgot there were a ton more movies.

This episode didn't go the way I expected. I'm looking forward to next week, and am sad that's all we get.

u/NightmareDJK 3d ago

Only thing I can think of is that he saves everyone from the At Attin droids.

Man. Jude Law better get a Emmy nomination for his portrayal.

That scene where he's flipping out at the kids and threatening them as they're kneeling - it occurred to me we hardly just get good simple & effective scenes like this in Star Wars, where's it's pure acting and dialogue and nothing else. I love how different it felt.

It makes me sad Andor and Skeleton Crew have lower viewership. They don't deserve that at all when they do so many things well, and managed to change how we look at SW.

u/wardengorri 3d ago

It's actually infuriating how good he is. Hoping at least for a nomination considering this is easily one of his best roles yet!

2

u/darthjoey91 3d ago

Unfortunately, he’s Long John Silver, not Captain Hook.

2

u/streakermaximus 2d ago

There is a convenient bottomless pit near the vaults. Jod's getting a Disney Death.

2

u/Valdularo 2d ago

Am I the only one who’s seeing a captain Jack Sparrow equivalence with him and Brutus?

2

u/GullibleCupcake6115 2d ago

To paraphrase Shakespeare: Jod be like: “Not that I loved being a pirate less, but that I loved credits more.” 😂😂

1

u/GullibleCupcake6115 2d ago

I think he is going to get killed by falling credits (ALA Captain Hook) OR has a change of heart and gets arrested and sentenced to serve time at one of the mints. He will be so close, yet so far from the unlimited amount of credits. A fate far worse than death. 😂😂☠️☠️🫣
