One less & it would have been another THX-1138 reference.

My bet is that one of the vaults somehow gets wrecked, leaving 1138 remaining

but the total is 1140 vaults – 1139 “other than this one”

number still seems like a deliberate choice, too close to be a coincidence? but not sure why they bumped it up

They didn't say "other than this one."

"How many vaults do you have like this?"

"1,139."

I interpret that as 1139 total, based on how it was said.

Correct, and confirmed in the episode guide's trivia gallery. So there are 1,138 other vaults, a more subtle nod to THX-1138. I understand the confusion due to the phrasing of the question and answer being different.

Yeah, that wording is a bit open to interpretation. Although, 1,139 does seem rather oddly specific. At least 1,140 is an even number.

I think its an indirect THX 1138 reference since that indirectly means there's 1138 other vaults.

I don't know. "Have like this" implies it's not counting the one they're using for reference

¯_(ツ)_/¯ “how many… like this” = STRONGLY comes across as “how many more… like this one” to me, but okay, the word “other” was not explicitly used, sure

I agree the phrasing used is a bit ambiguous, but from Silvo's tone/emphasis/delivery of the sentence, it seemed to me like he was asking for the total number.  Impossible for me to be 100% sure what the intention was though.

the whole planet be a THX-1138 reference .

People built robots and controlled by those robots , but in luxury style .

That much credits would DESTROY the galactic economy. For reference, all the money stolen during the Aldhani heist in Andor was about 80 million credits. Just one single vault puts that to shame. There is probably more money on At Attin than is in circulation in the entire galaxy. Anyone from the New Republic treasury showing up would absolutely shit a brick.

Mansa Musa on a galactic scale

My thought as well. But this is a kid's show, not an economy lecture, so I guess they will gloss over that fact.

There is no way that money makes it into circulation. It wouldn't surprise me if all the vaults are rigged to blow like the end of Treasure Planet. It would make a very appropriate end for Jod since he decided to go full heel this episode.

It wouldn't surprise me if all the vaults are rigged to blow

My vote is on "the pirates move ALL the money into the tiny ship, and then the kids blow it up while it flees using the cannon they learned about on At Achrann"

Isn’t it 1,140? The way that they phrased it, I believe the droid was saying 1,139 vaults in addition to the one that they were in

You can buy planets with those

And at its height there were 9 of those worlds. It goes to show how immensely populated the Old Republic was to have to circulate that many credits.

I said they were all IKEA-sized lol

I wonder if the number is a reference to something

How much credits do we estimate is in one vault? How much credits is on the planet?
